The owner, Marcelo, is a great guy. Extremely helpful, he pointed great and cheap places to eat, as well as things to see on the city. He let us choose the room, and gave us a quadruple room for the price of a double one, since it was vacant. The photos on the site may deceive you, for the rooms are nicer than the pics. They are simple, but very welcoming, warm, clean and with a great heat system. The hotel is in the city center, and close to everything. Strongly recommend to everyone.
all reviews » After that we saw many hostels and hotels, Ancud Petit was the best one of all. It was so clean, the room was so lovely and the owner of the hotel is a really nice guy who helps you all the time. There is always warm water in the shower and the breakfast, which includes orange juice, bread, coffe and so on was really good. The ladies working in the hotel were really nice and helpful. The location was great and everything was in walking distance. Also the room was fairly quiet although sometimes you could hear others in the hotel (thin walls I guess). The bed was comfortable and for once almost too hot :). This is a great budget option. Hotel is fairly basic but clean, comfortable enough and had everything we needed - room with private bathroom, self-serve breakfast, free wifi. Host Marcelo was very helpful. Great base to see the nearby penguin colony. Staff was very friendly, breakfast excellent, room was very big, bed and pillows were the best on our whole trip! Perfect location and the bathroom was clean. Price quality was excellent! Would recommend this to everyone!. Marcelo, the owner/manager of the hotel was extremely gracious and helpful. Oh and if you want to see pinguins, make sure you go at the right time as they're out from september to march and although I could have gone now in June the price for one person was exhorbitant for a tour: approx 60usd. A little noisy at times - thin walls and above a shopping centre - but worth putting up with for the price. Minor issue with hot water for shower but came through eventually if we ran it for long enough! Don't let these little things put you off. Sometimes it took a while before the shower was hot. The location was right in the center of Ancud and the street noise at night was disruptive of a good night's sleep. We felt safe and secure once we were in the hotel facility, but the actual neighborhood felt a little iffy for us in terms of being out after dark. nothing. There is no-one at the reception before 2 pm.so check-in is really not possible earlier (and since the doors are closed you can not even leave your luggage there). No air conditioning.
