We booked a room for 3 (1 single bed & 1 double bed). Apparently they just renovated the hotel so we got the room on the new building. It was a huge room with large comfy bed. The bathroom was good. It was also very close to the market and it was about 5 minutes walking to the riverside. our stay was almost perfect. the hotel is located near tourist attractions. the area is very local but safe and convenient. the room, although spartan, is clean and well maintained. comfy beds, a/c is working properly. almost all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
all reviews » The staff at this Hotel were exceptional, they went out of their way to help in any way possible, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were huge, breakfast was great, the value here is just incredible. Good area, two minute walk to night market, five to riverfront. Excellent value and great staff service. Great old colonial type building with heaps of character. Will use again. Need to check room as ther are some really dud ones. Maybe I was lucky. Make sure that you're in the new wing and not the old one. Location was great, buffet breakfast nice - we didn't get this included when we booked direct with the hotel on a previous visit, but when booking with letsbookhotel.com, it was (room was the same price both times). During my stay there were no inroom telephones which was a little difficult sometimes as I needed to contact tour guides etc. But Hotel did it all from reception so no major issue. Given the price, no negative comments. This was our second stay, and this time the shower was attached to the wall free style in the bathroom (no curtain or even rim) and it drained in the opposite corner between the toilet and sink. It made the whole floor wet and very slippery when it was. Bathroom was a little bit small. We booked this hotel to have a quiet atmosphere for making Skype interview calls overseas and there wasn't a real business center as mentioned. Bit far from Pub St, Night Markets and the evening scene. Hot water wasn't working properly. bit of strange smell in bathroom, but everything was cleaned very well. Room very basic, but adequate. Fridge turns off when room power is off. lots of uneven floor. Breakfast was included but was always out of food & coffee. Had to wait, but food was good when you finally got it. I booked 4 nights by mistake. Only needed 2. Would not refund me or give me nights when I returned 2 weeks later (management decision). Also Laundry lost an expensive pair of pajama shorts. Unfortunately I didn't check until after I left. nothing. Shower room. The hotel is very noisy. Aside from the construction, people are talking in the hallways during nighttime hours, doors are slamming, and this hotel is popular among prostitutes (FYI). none. Breakfast the same everyday, lack variety. 1. old wing room is old, dimly lighted 2. bed sheet is old & 1 of the pillow is not covered with proper pillow cover 3. towel not so clean 4. new wing room is dim, should fix more brighter tubes 5. provided with thin sheet of blankets 6. Phnom Penh streets are very dirty, needs more effort to have a face lift to attract & boost tourism industry. No telephone in the room, so you have to travel down to the ground floor any time you want something or want to ask anyone from the hotel staff. The pillows wher lumpy and hard. doing renovations, no slippers in room, have a shower and water goes on toilet and wash dish, as room is tiny and has no shower curtain, no hotel information booklet, no pool, had no record of my reservation ,. Located in a horrible neighborhood, even for Cambodia. Staff sucks in everyway. The air conditioner did not work well. The water only partially worked in the bath. Not a very nice hotel. Sometimes breakfast is cover at 8; tours overcharged.
