Staff was very friendly. 30 second walk to Ipanema beach. Hotel provided beach towels and rain umbrellas.

Room was small, but we weren't there to hang out in the room anyway so I wouldn't consider this a negative. Shower head was on the ceiling vs on the wall. I didn't particularly like this, but it shouldn't really matter.

Very good location. Very nice room with great bed. Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Free wifi.

Pool was being renovated and was closed. Apparently offered beach services due to the pool being closed. However, the weather was average during our stay and there was no beach service.

Perfect location. We could go for a morning swim and then go explore the city. In the night time there were a lot of good restaurants and bars in the area. Great breakfast buffet with lots of fruit and fresh juice. Clean, simple rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Wifi connection were a bit poor in the room - disconnected a couple of times.

I liked everything. It's a nice and cosy hotel. Excellent location: close to good juice bars, restaurants, cinema, beach, metro-na-superficie station. They even have a souvenir shop in the lobby. Fast wi-fi, beach accessories, (a few) electric adapters - all free to borrow. Good breakfast.

Friendly and helpful staff. The new rooms look nice and are cosy. Fantastic location in Ipanema. Great and varied breakfast.

Some renovation work during the day. The wall to the neighbouring room was very thin so one could hear the other guests.

Location for the beach and shopping is excellent. Breakfast was amazing. Staff spoke good English and we're helpful. Once the hotel has been fully renovated it would be almost perfect for the cost.

Our room was old and needed renovating, some had been ronovated but ours hadn't.

Rooms needed a bit of "finishing off" eg no proper bedside table, some tiles missing in bathroom etc. No bar/day time restaurant so really only suitable for working holidays or very short visits.

The hotel has been refurbished, is clean, comfortable and the staff and breakfast are great. It is close to shopping, restaurants and close to the beach. Most of the staff speak English. We had a spacious family suite with a terrace and beach view. Also, the a/c unit was quiet and the shower was good too.

There was some street noise, but it was quiet at night.

Liked the location in a safe area, and close to the beach. (This was our third stay here.) Our room was recently renovated but had no desk or chair. Breakfast OK but not excellent.

Internet service cannot keep up with the demand from patrons. Floors are under construction so there is some building noise in the day. We preferred when the rooms had a bit more charm; the new fixtures are very generic

We loved the staff at the Ipanema Inn. Everyone there spoke English and were extremely helpful in finding excursions, transportation, food etc.. We had a large group of 6 (2 seniors and 2 children under 9) which made for some difficult logistics when traveling and the staff here made everything easy. Breakfast buffet was amazing and you can walk to the beach. Hotel provides umbrella and towels to chill on the beach for free. This is a great place to stay and will do it again.

Wifi signal was weak in certain locations of the room but all-in-all was better than no connection at all.

We liked the close proximity to the beach. 1 minute walk from Ipenema beach. It was also in a good shopping and eating area. The friendly staff, especially the very smily lady at breakfast and the extremely helpful bell boy. The good breakfast. The rooms were immaculately cleaned and tidied.

Breakfast buffet is very rich for a 3 star hotel. Location is good, only one block from the beach. Reception staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great room for three of us - split level room with a double bed and bathroom upstairs and two single beds and bathroom below. Room spacious and clean. Normal double rooms looked quite a bit smaller. Breakfast very nice.

No pool or shower facilities. Had to negotiate to pay 1/2 the room rate for a late check out as apparently they normally don't allow this, which is a pain if you have an early evening flight and want to spend the day on the beach. Our room was labelled a "sea view" room but this hotel isn't right on the front - you could only see the street from the corner of our balcony if you stuck your head out and looked right down the street!

The room was too small. The lobby restroom was not available for use. Changing the primary language from Portugese to English on the tv channels was not an option. We called the front desk for help and they said they'd send someone up to fix the problem and no one came.
