The hotel is literally a stone's throw from Paraty Bus Station. A 3 min walk from the Historic Centre. Though the staff spoke very little English, they certainly possessed a customer-friendly mindset throughout. A good breakfast spread although the options for Eggs are limited. While checking in, we were told about some of the main attractions of this beautiful mesmerizing town. The rooms were cleaned everyday. Strangely, the bar rates/prices seem very economical as well.

Room was great and the pool as fantastic. The Pousada is located in the center of Paraty, very close to the busstation. Thank you very much for a very nice stay. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time staying at this Pousade. It was located close to the old town and bus station which is perfect for day trips to the beach. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed relaxing by the swimming pool. The staff spoke English and were extremely helpful. Everything. Beautiful building. Great staff. We were very happy with our room, the bed, easy access to a safe. We didn't try the pool but just looking at it was peaceful. We were so happy that we chose the right place to stay! Thank you. Location,as it was very close to historic downtown. The breakfast is also good, with a lot of variety of fruits, cakes, bread, cereals... Other advantage is the pool, after the beach you can simply relax in a very pleasant atmosphere. The colonial architecture was really nice and fitted perfectly with the city's architecture and ambient. Nice small Hotel extremely close to the bus station which is very good if you arrive late from Rio de Janeiro. It is 3 minutes walk to the Historic Center of the little Paraty town. The location: it was not inside the old city, but it was close, so its was possible to reach it by car. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast area and swimming pool. Good breakfast. The bathroom didn't have a door (as is the case for throughout this hotel.) The wifi works intermittently in the rooms. Works slightly better in the common areas like the reception area. The room is plain with its interiors - rather very basic. The toilet seemed just enough in terms of space. At breakfast time we sometimes had to ask for a bowl, a tea bag or something that really should have been out there on the table. There is no parking at the pousada. Another point is that my credit card was charged (1 night) at the moment that I made my booking (almost 2 months before). The Wifi signal was deficient in our room, but otherwise it functioned really well in the lobby and other areas. Rooms slightly outdated but fit well with the whole concept. quite a few mosquitos outside in the grounds so bring repellent :). The room was very humid and unfortunately we had two big coakroaches (baratas) in two different ocasions. Rooms could do with with a lick of paint. Breakfast was so full of people that items that usually are offered for breakfast had finished and sone were nor going to be provided anymore, such as yogurt, for example. Only some of the food was covered at breakfast; recommended they covered all of it. For the price I paid, I cannot complain for anything. Interior very tired...lack of attention to detail like a broken window in the bedroom, soap tray missing, mould bottom right at entrance to shower and painting required in general. The bathroom didn't have a door, so it was kind of integrated with the room. Too much noise. The rooms are very damp (so much that the painted walls are stained). This could be improved by fitting ceramic tiles on all the walls. A simple solution that would make the rooms much more pleasant. I would think twice about staying at the pousada again just because of the dampness. Very busy at Easter weekend. WiFi very bad. Thins walls.

PLEASE AVOID HIGHWAY RJ-165 (PARATY-CUNHA) Highway RJ-165 is one of the options to get to Paraty. If you travel by car, the GPS route will take you through the town of Cunha. However, this highway is in very bad condition and presents serious danger to drivers. A safer alternative to reach Paraty is the route via HIGHWAY SP-099 (TAMOIOS), going through the town of Caraguatatuba. You can check the complete route in Google maps.
