Much of the hotel has been remodeled and present website photo's do not do the rooms justice.Very clean, staff very helpful, stayed on canal side - a real jewel of a view, complimentary breakfast fresh and varied, 3 restaurants accross the street w/canal view. Less than a 1/4 mile from two windmills (great photo op), and a stones throw from the market. Excellent value for cost of room. Really nice place in a great location - just to add: The toilet/shower was fine, maybe some people need to loose some weight and they wont have a problem.

The location of the hotel is also very good. Lots of restaurants/cafes/bars in the vicinity, and you can walk anywhere in the city from here (including the train station). Breakfast!. The receptionist was very helpful. On our arrival whwn she discovered that the taxi driver had overcharged us she rang the taxi company and they apologized and gave us a voucher. One of our company had a single room - room 207 - and it was very comfortable ; it had a double bed and with a big shower room....The hotel is very convenient and close to the main squares.The hotel was fantastic.Staff where very helpful.We stayed in a room right beside the canal which was great.The bathroom as mentioned in previuos reviews is compact but is perfectly adequete.Breakfast is good and is constantly replenished.Parking is on a car park quite close at about 8 euros a day.The hotel will direct you there.Over all great hotel. Shower room was tiny. No clock in room. Wake-up service was easy to use tho. Staff was a bit robotic and not entirely helpful but that didn't really matter as we had a great overall experiece at the Ter Reien. Just one small thing was a power cut late one night but these thing'scant be helped it was sorted by morning. We did not have a view from our room, because our window was so low.toilets in room too small. The shower cubilcle was tiny, as was the bathroom itself.shower not draining properly (possibly due to being down on river level) giving a poor smell at times. Shower didn't drain. Almost flooded room. Parking a problem but in brugges it applies all over. Shower in double room very small.We asked a doublebed but we found a twinbed!. The cabin style toilet/shower cubicle is way too small.The staff smoked in public areas - particularly there was a problem with the cigar smoke. drain like smell in room. room was a little bit small_ particularly the bathroom.. but other wise was great!. Building work was taking place on the other side of the road and this did start early but is not the hotel's fault. i thought the lighting in the room poor. i would have been able to eat at 0800 . i didnt like that there was no sheet on the bed , but i believe thats a southern hemishere thing it was quite warm and we like a sheet and then when it cools down the doona . Tiny bathroom, thin walls.

Information about the area

Bruges is probably the best preserved medieval town in Europe, and when staying at the hotel you have the chance of experiencing a wonderful stay right in the middle of the historic centre.

The Burg square with its wonderful gothic City Hall, the Market square with the imposing Belfry building and its cosy terraces, the departures for the canal trips, the most important museums and the main shopping streets are only 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

Room information details

The rooms are very quiet. The canal side rooms can only be disturbed by the swans floating on the water. The rooms on the court yard are peacefull and the side street on which the other rooms are situated is not a busy one.
All our rooms are non-smoking, the only place where smoking is allowed in the hotel is on the courtyard.

Travelling information

From Calais or Brussels, take the motorway E40, direction "Brugge". Leave the motorway at the exit "Brugge" and follow the signs "Sint- Michiels" and later "parking station". Leave the parking station at your right hand side and continue straight ahead towards a bridge. After crossing that bridge you will arrive on the "Ring" around Brugge. Continue straight ahead and after approximately 2 km, you will see the "Kruispoort" on your left hand side (town gate number 6). Turn left into the Kruispoort. You are now in the "Langestraat". The hotel is situated on the right hand side at nr. 1.

The train station is situated a little bit outside the centre of Bruges. To the hotel, you can either take a bus (nr. 6 or 16) that will bring you at 50 m from the hotel, or you can take a taxi. The charge for the taxi drive lasts approximately 10 minutes and costs approximately 10 Euro.

The hotel doesn't have parking. On 5 minutes on foot from the hotel, there's a guarded carpark, 't Pandreitje. The cost is 8.70 euro per 24 hours. In the city centre parking on the main streets is paying. Other streets are a blue zone. The use of a parking disc is compulsory every day (except Sundays and Belgian official holidays) between 9 am and 7 pm with a maximum of 4 hours.
