The hotel has been undergoing some nice renovation/ re-decoration recently. Our room was sunny and bright, nicely decorated and had a very homely feeling. Breakfast was good; the staff was nice and efficient. The location is hard to beat. Free Wi-Fi as well! Very satisfied. Beautiful room on a lovely square with, as the name suggests, a genuine view of the Schelde, and really convenient for old city centre. Also very friendly staff.all reviews »
Nice room and nice location, very central, good breakfast. It was a very quaint hotel, one I assume was converted from a home. The staff were very nice and helpful and the continental breakfast was the best we had our entire trip.Excellent staff, breakfast was realy good for the price we paid. the breakfast and the restaurant. Helpful friendly staff. The new owners have made some positive changes, for example giving the rooms some fresh paint, installing a fridge downstairs (it is pleasant to have the possibility to buy drinks downstairs, even get them sent up to your room, for reasonable prices). Breakfast was nice too; good coffee. Overall some nice developments in the Scheldezicht.The location is excellent, in the old town, close to the river and the shopping district. The complimentary breakfast was also really nice. I thought the rooms had character and the staff were unobtrusive. The location, the charme of the hotel and the friendly staff.locatio. People who want all the comforts should note it's a bit tatty round the edges. Also not recommended for anyone who can't manage steep stairs. The bathroom was not in the room. We had looked at several hotels in that price range and the description led us to believe that this hotel had the bathroom in the room but that was not so. What a surprise when we found we were sharing the WC with 3 other rooms! We didn't appreciate that!. Hotel is a bit noisy but luckily it is not a big hotel and guests didnot return in the middle of the night being loud. The curtains let theearly sun light in very easily so we were awake very early. Maybe wewould recommend some dark curtains.....No lift and no own toilet but weknew that before booking so no problems on that. The stairs are difficult especially on upper foloors as there's no lift.Also room doors don't fit that well so hall/staircase noise easilyfilters into room especially late at night.Still a few things to do, I guess. Could have done with a TV in the room as there's no facilities for relaxation.decor needed updating, mosquitoes in room. Very noisy and shower/toilet facilities not good. no WC in the room, no separate bathroom, no elevator ( climbing to the 4th floor on narrow stairs - not exactly convenient!!! ). no toilet in the room.

About 2 km further till 4th traffic lights ( on your right Cafe Zuiderterras), here you turn left. You are now on the Sint Jansvliet. You will see our hotel after 50 meters on your right.

Follow the ring direction Breda, take Exit nr. 1 Merksem/Haven 1-199, at the end of the exit (to your left McDonalds) you turn right.
