When we arrived I asked if twin beds were booked. She said queen and divan . I thought that was a bit rich having to stay on divan. I had told my friend I usually stay at Mooloolaba as the screen showed the one at Mooloolaba. She then said they could make king into twin. We had booked I bed twin apt. When we came back at 4.30pm. To get our room key we were upgraded to twin plus double 2 bed/2 bath apt. So great stay.
all reviews » I liked the fact that it was situated near the city attractions but not too close, hence not too noisy. The tram stop was just by the hotel or we could walk downtown in less than 15 minutes. There was a small supermarket right next door. We were on 10th floor and had the views without the traffic noise. The staff were nice and helpful and the apartment was roomy, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff were excellent, we could not fault them. The receptionist who checked us in couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, we were really impressed. The hotel is also in a very convenient location with a tram stop right outside, but we found a lot of locations were within easy walking distance. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. We liked the two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and a large lounge plus a washing machine and tumble drier. We particularly liked the terrace restaurant/ cafe/ bar which was excellent for well priced well presented breakfast choices and also for meals later in the day or a casual drink. We got an upgrade to a two bedroom apartment which we thought was a bit pointless because we were only a couple, but it was great because the living space was nice and big and we got two bathrooms. The bed was nice and comfy which is not the case in a lot of hotels. we received a complimentary upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment, modern and clean furnishings, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dryer in 2nd bathroom. Free city tram on door step and iga supermarket next door. Staff were magnificent, especially Rebecca who attended to our every need and more! Made us feel welcome as a family from the outset. Two bedroom apartment was amazing and hotel facilities excellent. It was easy to get to get around, the trams were at the front door. The rooms were clean and big enough for the kids to play. All the attractions were close, and corner shop close by... Excellent location withing easy walking distance of the City Centre and Victoria Market. Located on the free Melbourne tram circuit. The man on the counter at 4pm on Sunday was really unfriendly and not pleasant or helpful. He ushered us in to collect our bags. Once we had checked out all service ceased!. The bathroom door squeaked. But the staff fixed it as soon as we mentioned it.The lighting in the living area was a bit dim for reading in the evening.The shower temperature fluctuated. Kitchen was missing essential equipment for cooking, I.E. no saucepans or frying pan, and there was limited crockery as well. We did not like at all the need to pay daily or hourly for wifi and even then it was outsourced and failed badly. Though refunded it was totally impossible to use wifi on our floor. There were two computers available at reception but that is not acceptable in this day and age. We travelled extensively in Australia for a few weeks and stayed at five star places in Sydney and motels, BandB places and throughout the world where wifi is recognised as a need and is always free. Can't complain about anything really. only complaint is the 2nd bathroom floor could have been cleaner. Needed plugs for the sinks in the kitchen and the spa bath. The cutlery, glass ware and dishes were not very clean and we only had one timbler glass. Buffet breakfast was a bit dissappointing but the adjoining cafe/bar had great meals for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. breakfast- $14.95- good price for a simple buffet but a little disappointing in the quality - though they were happy to cook fresh eggs when asked. Carparking @ $30 per day is a little expensive. It was too hot in the room and we couldn't adjust the air con. Not able to open a window and there were no champayne glasses in our 2 bedroom apartment. When I opened the oven to place some food in it, there was melted cheese on the oven door and also on the oven tray. The breakfast buffet was cheap but the food quality was not very good -powdered eggs, dry and brittle hash browns. Wifi should be free or cheaper. Nothing at all. Showerhead over the bath sprayed everywhere and slippery surface on bath. The shower is not ergonomically designed for a 6' person. The elevators are not very quick. Hear alot of noise in the hallway. Nothing. Having to place breakfast order separately with cafe, as their opening hours did not always make this convenient. air conditioning in breakfast room and restaurant was too cold. To be honest the bathroom could do with a bit of work! The shower it self needs to have a lip so you don't flood the floor out and also the shower turns for hot to cold every 5 seconds:( other than that great stay:). No frying pan in the room!! 10.00am checkout. Our room (804) needed another mirror - there was only one in the bathroom. A bit too far away from City Centre. Bathroom was a bit old and could do with a make over. Room make up was not a very good standard, only made bed & replaced towels, nothing else!!!. We booked 2 single beds but got a double . They set up a sofa bed so all good in the end. air con not working properly so made apartment stuffy at times. Main bedroom windows did not open. Kitchen tap was very loose. Found a not so clean plate in the cupboard. $30 a day for parking. noisy pipes while showering, restaurant too busy to accommodate us in the evening. No prices on the mini bar or movies on the tv.
