Reception staff were very kind and helpful. Rooms were adequate, comfortable and well provisioned. The Motel is conveniently located to major train stations, making a commute to the city very easy. The Room was good value for money and very clean. All the Amenities including heater, television, kettle etc were in good working order. Breakfast was nice and the bed was comfortable.
all reviews » This accommodation allowed me to attend meetings and continue work after hours. I made use of room service on one evening of my stay which suited my work schedule. Almost everything was up to the mark compared to price I paid. Good service nice to have restaurant on premises. Good sized parking. Easy to find. It was good to find a good value for money motor inn close to the city but avoiding the hustle. Value for money. Excellent restaurant with great food and service from friendly staff. Extremely easy to get to and close to the City. Served my purpose perfectly..... The Ascot Motor Inn is a competent suburban motel on a busy main highway. price and location basin in bedroom separate from shower and toilet. location is excellent when arriving in Sydney from the north coast. Price. it was in a good location for me, near a conference in Hornsby. i liked having restaurants and shops near by. All the basic needs covered. Good location for us. Have no illusion, this hotel is dated, but it had all the facilities, fridge, kettle, ensuite, bed, towels, chair and table to eat off. Just quite aged, but kept very clean. This could be a very good budget motel with some attention to improving the facilities & the location in the Wahroonga/Hornsby area would make it very attractive motel to many travellers. Staff very polite and helpful. They werer currently renovating so improvments were obvious. The young gentleman was new but very helpful. Close to the F3 and not too far away from Waitara railway station (access to the city). Location was good for early get away to Newcastle breakfast available night before. clean, comfortable great value for money. would go back again. bed comfortable. The property was convenient to where our business was ie 2km away and we bought dinner in the restaurant rather than going out. Good location and convenience of parking on site. But it was near the railway station to get into sydney. It was also very near a large shopping centre. absolutely nothing, except it was near our family's home. Checking out within 1 hour of checking in. Location only. I have no complaints!. N/a. One needs to know how to obtain vehicle access to the premises. Opening the obvious entry point would assist. The hair dryer wasn't working and the fridge freezer needed defrosting..... (little stuff). Did not get TV working but we were in late and left early so did not bother about it. Hard to turn into at first and was not sure if we had the right place at first.... As two restuarant same entrance. While clean and freshly painted, the room had a vibrant population of small cockroaches (10-20 visible at any one time!) - small size suggests a recent hatching. Motel needs refurbishing,in bathrooms and generally. It is nice and comfortable just old and dated. Bathroom very small. parking was not allocated to the room so i could not always park in front of my room. noisy neighbours outside on balcony till 11pm smoking and drinking and swearing. would have like a microwave in the room and toaster, and the jug did not turn itself off. some hotels have biscuits as well as tea and coffee and this would have been a nice touch - a little sustenance after a long drive without having to go out for it straight away. Difficult to find the entrance, which is at the back, and the sign pointing the direction was overgrown by a bush. Awkward to turn in off the Pacific Hwy. Reception was unattended when we arrived at 1pm, I believe they were working in the restaurant, and there was a queue of people waiting for service. We rang their phone number, which was diverted to the hand-held and got very courteous and prompt service thereafter. No hot water over the hand basin or the shower. opened folder in room next to coffee cups and 7 (tiny)cockroaches were inside eating the sugar spilt in it... be had no stoppers and rolles on the tile floors through the night. It is really tired and needs lots of work. I have stayed there a few times, the bed is good but there is always simple stuff that doesn't work (eg. lights, no sink plug etc.). Room lighting very dull Shower continually dripped. dated but very inexpensive. Old worn blanket, dreadful old curtains, not even on their rod properly, air conditioner would not get cold, even when staff assisted me. 1) Did not have a Dissabled room for my mother. 2) Bathrooms too small. Mouldy smell of the room. Water Pressure in shower too slow...I'm glad the weather was hot for my stay. Car access was confusing and not signposted. Dated,maintainence needed in room, car park grotty, terrible old blanket on bed. I chose ascot because it had a restaurant and didn't have to go out on my own but I was the only person there .....on a Saturday night that is suspicious. Female receptionist, obviously from the Basil Fawlty hospitality school. Deluxe suite? We don't think so, when compared to other properties in the area. An alternative room was offered but it was the same condition. Room smelt mouldy, curtains falling off tracks and in poor condition. Air Con very noisy so we decided against using it. Loud motor noise during the night which kept me awake. Shower tiles were not clean, build up of scum which can lead to foot infections. Had to place shower mat on the floor in the shower in order to prevent any skin infection (plantar warts). Drains in shower and near toilet full of mould and had a bad smell. The mouldy smell lingered throughout the unit. It was very dark and dingey and smelt old smokey and unpleasant , the towels where clean but thin and spikey they had been washed so many times , I would not recommend it. Happened to be 2 people having a domestic argument at 11.15pm which should have been sorted quickly by management, it wasnt so made for a long night, then the garbage truck comes in about 6am. This motel has an indian restaurant, my breakfast came and smelled a bit like indian. Fridge, Bathroom, no toaster, no microwave. Room grossly misrepresented in promotional material. Not clean. Air conditioner faulty. Hugely expensive for what it is. Got there at 1 am and was left waiting for twenty minutes and then sent away. They blamed you guys. Twenty minutes later they rang me while I was searching for another motel. no apology. Paid $110 for a room I occupied for 6 hours. Room, was smelly, had Cock Roaches, and was way to small. Who ever rated it a 4 star motel was dreaming. Never to be stayed at or recommended to anyone. It was a mess. The kettle was broken. The bathroom minute. The towels threadbare. The breakfast menu appalling. Nothing fresh and very expensive. The TV remote did not work, so i could not change the channel on the TV , NO Hot water went to gmy for a shower, couldnt talk to the manager about my stay. This hotel was discusting. Discribed by yourselves as a 4star queen de lux room. There were insects crawling out of the light switch. Water damage on the wardrobes and cupboards. Really dissappointed. We have taken pictures which we intend to show at a later date, when we get back to Sweden. We are still at this moment in Australia. filthy, shower curtains had blood on, dirty sink in room, everything was grubby, In fact we didn't want to get into bed at all, nor put our feet on carpet.Nor did we shower as it looked so disgusting.plus day rates which means it is a brothel. everything, room dirty, dark and dingy, horrible bugs in cupboard, jus a disgrace. Broken utensils. Flat batteries. Small, worn out towels. Cleaning all surfaces including tables, desks, water jugs, shower and toilet bowl with the same cloth with no disinfectant. Demand for full payment in advance. Foul smelling garbage bins within meters of rooms.
