I had a note on my file that I liked the apartment that we stayed in last time and would prefer it for future bookings. I was kindly rang by a staff member to let me know that room was not available as it was a two bedroom apartment I had booked a one bedroom apartment. The staff member then went out of their way I'm sure to make sure we had a similar apartment but with a view over the city. We were very happy with the apartment and we will be returning in about 3 weeks for another stay in C.
all reviews » The apartment was clean, spacious and the view was spectacular! We were so close to all the places we wanted to visit Parliment House, The War Memorial and Shopping in the City. The Staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem. I would recommend it to anyone looking for top accommodation in the city at a reasonable price. Kathy, Kevin and Family. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The apartment was spacious and well-equipped and very comfortable. There was a good food/liquor store and a great little cafe across the road. Highly recommend Breakfree Capital Towers for a stay in Canberra, close to the National and Portrait galleries. Would definitely stay again on future trips. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment as we were meeting an Australian friend in Canberra. The apartment was spacious, well-equipped and must have had one of the most fabulous views in Canberra overlooking the lake and the Parliament. Would definitely recommend paying a little extra for a lake view. As I was travelling with my elderly mother who unfortunately was not very well the staff were very helpful with facilities close by that I required and consideration of check out time. We also left some of her clothing there and staff were very helpful in returning that to us. Was perfect for what we required. Centre of Canberra, easy to get to by road and to go anywhere from the apartments was easy. Huge apartment, everything worked, however some updates could be done.. toaster was from the past but overall we enjoyed our stay. the view and design of the apartment 2 bathrooms are good for people sharing but want own space. The car with roof rack did not fit easily in underground car park, so another option was available free parking in the city. Absolutely great room with a fabulous view. Some of the fixtures were loose and falling off wall. However, according to Reception, an upgrade programme is in hand. A charge for Foxtel was a bit of a shock and at $10 a day was a bit of a rip off. Therefore we didn't take up the option. For guest using the Breakfree as a hotel stay should have access to a minimal selection of pay TV shows like all major hotels. It is 2013. traffic noise being next to an intersection of multilane roads second bedroom did not fit large bed easily with one side against a wall. We tried to give chocolates to the receptionist as a thank you for the great room, but reception was closed at 6pm. Perhaps a little later. The main (lounge dinning room) air conditioning hardly worked, and was noisy, so it was cold and hard to listen to cricket (and you don't want to change rooms at that time of night). The lift, but that is being fixed. One lift operating, difficult to navigate the car park in our 4wd. DVD player did not play European DVDs. Pillows were too big. A bit pricey. Internet connection was slow and intermittent in the rooms. tired fittings and furnishings, outdated layout. One lift was put if order but it wasn't really a problem. Needs local attractions/events info & be helpfull if staff knew a little more about local happenings. No restaurant or room service was a little inconvenient for business travellers. Kitchen tap needed fixing, very little utensils for cooking, no linen for eating on etc. But I understand these things are theft ris. None. Nothing really. only one lift working so very slow getting into and out of rooms in morning and afternoon. a bit noisy on the 8th floor was much quieter on 1st floor. When you booked via internet they always place us on the lower floors without views extremely disappointing. Fridge not cold enough, no chopping board. Furniture uncomfortable and sparse. Renovations in foyer and lifts. lots of carpet remnants lying around lift access areas. Shower over bath was very poor. checked in too late then had to check out too early. There wasn't anything we didn't like. Little bit tired and worn. No foxtel in the rooms. ac/heating not working properly. Everything else ok. Their was 4 people and only 2 towels needed more soap only I was there. None. toilet roll kept coming off holder. lounge chairs no high backs very uncomfortable. Dining chairs wobbley glued together could be dangerous. n/a. The fittings in the bathrooms were broken. Housekeeping and general cleaning, really needed a good clean especially the bathrooms and balcony. Very little tourist info available and the staff had little knowledge even though it was peak tourist time. The air conditioning/climate control doesn't seems to work well in the room. Outdated and well worn furniture.
