We stayed twice at the Pullman International Cairns on this trip. Two nights on the way to Port Douglas and one night on the way back. On the way to Port Douglas we arrived at ten thirty and our room was ready. It was clean, tasteful and had a great view all over Cairns. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the pool and surrounds were beautiful. When we left two bottles of chilled water had been placed in our rental car. On the second stay our room was not ready when we arrived at midd.

Your staff are the most friendly, easy going people we have come across in any hotel we have ever stayed at, even the guys who park our car to the the valet who brings our bags to our room.... 6 star in our books.... Keep up the good work guys & gals ... you make a great team... The staff were excellent - this carried through seamlessly from front desk to the exceptionally helpful wait staff right through to the concierge and baggage holders. I couldn't commend the Cairns Pullman International highly enough and will certainly recommend it to other travellers and return here myself. Excellent customer service and a great all round hotel experience. The building is reminiscent of colonial Singapore with tall collonades and plantation shutters. Our room was well appointed and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also well equipped with lovely toiletries. Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great ... right next to the wharf in Cairns so close to lots of restaurants and the boardwalk. Everything was beautiful,staff was excellent, can't fault anything whenever we have to stay in cairns again we will always stay at Pullmans was waking distance to everything and I mean everything. We stayed at Novotel a week before and was so so disappointed would never bother again would just book at Pullmans international with no hesitation. Every staff member was so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and every staff member really seemed to enjoy making your stay as enjoyable as they could. Have never experienced such good service before. They should all be proud of themselves and know they are doing a great job. Friendly staff from arrival to leaving. Luxurious throughout and fresh relatively new decor and fit out, very good restaurant esp seafood buffet, location perfect, spacious reception and neo colonial feel. Great room and large well fitted out bathroom. Pool area and Gym also good. Comfortable large room with two double beds and a large well equiped ensuite bathroom. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The office staff and concierge/car valet staff were friendly,polite and helpful as were the housekeeping staff. The swimming pool was great. Buffet dinner amazing- very fresh seafood. All staff so helpful- especiallyAndre who parked our car and helped with luggage. Complimentary bottles of water in car on departure much appreciated.Definitely stay again. There was some noise from the Casino revellers accross the road in the early morning hours 2am -3.30am which for some people could be avoided if they had a city/hills view instead of a harbour side view. My room wasn't ready when I arrived (4:30pm) - but they gave me a drink voucher and internet access while I waited, so this was no problem. The room was lovely, but the floors could have been vacuumed a little bit more- my only constructive critisism. No free wi-fi the rooms. Out of 4 different city hotels in both Australia and New Zealand we stayed in on this trip The Pullman Cairns Intl was the only one that did not offer free wi-fi in the room so we had to go to the lobby area for wiFi service. Also, no free coffee area in the lobby. There is only 1 hour free internet in lobby with small bandwidth. Sometimes there was a little smell of moist, but this is typical in tropic north hotels. Internet free in the foyer it's hopeless always does not work well and I have stayed here on 4 previous occasions always the same This time they gave me free room wifi it was excellent and free. Liked everything & will book again & recommend to friends. nothing. Really no complaints at all. Old outdated gym. Could do with a refresh. The Internet and parking charges should have been complementary. Parking of $20 per day was expensive. Some more variety in breakfast will be welcome. There was nothing I didn't like. I thought the carpet was looking a little worn out and the verandah furnishings didn't suit the rest of the hotel. Nothing. Did not like the rooms not being cleaned till late afternoons. Nothing to not like we would go back again in a flash. Prices for the restaurant were high - we went out. I know in this part of the world they love having their air conditioning up at full blast, but this hotel was another level again of cold. It was damn freezing everywhere. The hotel staff all had jackets on so perhaps this is the reason. Key card for door played up a lot - very frustrating. Unable to turn airconditioning off in the room and enjoy the fresh air from outside. Breakfast was overpriced-- we ate at the French restaurant next door which was very good and much cheaper. Internet is only free for 2 hours in the lobby...ridiculous. Noise from Casino across road during the night. Beds were a little soft for my taste. Breakfast was terrible. Everything was cold, the variation was limited and most coffee/tea facilities were out of milk. We went elsewhere. Nothing.
