Excellent and very helpful staff! There was something fun going on every night such as drinking games, reptile shows, cheap bbqs etc. The people and music is quite loud (which is fun, people are happy), but it gets quiet after midnight. Showers and toilets were clean. There is about a 20 min walk from the hostel to the city center but the hostel have free shuttlebuses about once every hour. If I come back to cairns, I will stay here again!.
all reviews » just really good service and everyone there was really helpful. plus the place just has a great atmosphere and I dont usually like backpacker hostels so that is saying something. the people were all really friendly and they have a courtesy bus that will take you into the heart of town from 7am till 11pm. There were organised fun things each night. The staff were really nice. Nice place, very clean, excellent staff, friendly people. One of the only hostels in town with free shuttle to airport, wharf and downtown, very convenient. Fun atmosphere without being overly rowdy or crazy. AC unit in the room worked real well. Great welcome ! From the airport driver to the mate in the reception they were all very nice ! The hostel in pretty practicle too with the pool and the bar in the middle. I like the palm trees in this hostel, but in the lobby people are always singing and dancing even at night, so a little noisy. Friendly staff, the bar Iside the hostel Was very useful, lots of shower and very clean Rooms. city and airport shuttle available. friendly and advises availeble form the staff. Being able to book activities through the hostel reception. Superfriendly staff, help everytime. Reception is nearly every time available. The rooms are clean and everyone us friendly. Wonderful atmosphere, not too loud, quiet during the night, wonderful place. Especially the girls at the reception are fantastic, help everytime and smile. Perfect hostel, fun, and evety thing was good! The city shuttle druves every hour to the city and the pick up shuttle to and from the airpirt is a very good idea!. Had some very tiny ants or something in the room. that I am not currently by their pool enjoying the sun and good times !. the showers were a little cold. We had booked a double room but ended up with a double with a bunk on the top so it was uncomfortable to sit up in bed and got in the way. Maybe a bit far from the 'centre' of cairns. Showers upstairs lacked any place to hang/ hold your change of clothes or toiletries and the water was often not hot. Room felt a little grimy and beds not that great but not that bad either. You can hear everything from the room (people talking from the room next door). Very thin wall. Didn't bother me but I could understand if you need silence to sleep that it could be annoying. Very far away from cairns central. The music in the central court was at high volume until midnigth. No good if you want to rest... the high music till late at night and people loud speaking and singing during the night. Very very noisy and respectless with people's rest time. Loud music till late and lot of noise after music was over. The music was, hostel's music not any guest's. even though this is a backpakers we found it to be very below the rest of the standard others in the local area. we also paid extra to have wifi which we could not receice in our room. would not reccommend.
