Instead of an overpriced bar fridge and room service, I thought the option of a vending machine and frozen meals was a good way to keep costs down. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were good and the area was quiet - we slept well Overall, I would call it a sensible hotel - good clean rooms and reasonable prices. I like that the rooms were spacious and had a small kitchenette. The location was very close to Westfield Shopping and there were bus lines that go straight to Brisbane City. Value for money!.
all reviews » staff were very accommodating as I had made 2 separate bookings and they arranged for 3 single beds first night and then my normal queen bed second night. Good, clean well located place. Easy on the budget and right next to a great shopping mall. Would definitely stay again if in Brisbane. So handy to everything,the room is so cosy the staff is very helpful to the guest they try everything to give the guest there request. I liked the location of the travelodge, and how easy it was to find for a first timer in Mt Gravatt. I was very with my stay. It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the product and it's delivery. I found that the toilet was too close to the side wall, making awkward to get to and tear off the toilet paper. As we had booked online, our understanding was that we would receive a 2 for 1 breakfast cost. Instead, we received only a $1.50 discount on the $16.50 breakfast cost. Location a little tricky to find?. The maintenance was poor; -the air conditioner was blocked and did not work until requested; the shower head was loose; the tv was hardly user friendly with the remote working intermittently only; tv wires not in place when we booked in. Staff did attend to most of these items - and willingly. A little bit expensive. Wifi is not free. Rooms are good, but just good. I wasn't able to find the Gideon bible anywhere. Nothing to complain !. The place looked cluttered during cleaning, which anyway doesn't affect the stay. Do prefer to have a top sheet on bed. Noise from other rooms. Our GPS couldn't locate the address. no instructions or watts for microwave.some meals are 850, some are 1100, or 1200 watts. What is yours? What about the kids? no dvd player, now that's cruel. Had to pay a $100 bond that was refundable at the end of our stay - never had that experience before. Had to open the windows when we got in. There was a minor smell. The room was very clean though!. No free wi-fi access. Not applicable. Shower runs hot and cold Door stop in bathroom in inconvenient place - stubbed toe Lack of car spaces- not a space for each unit. Nothing. Video service not working. people walking up and down the hallways alnight. The breakfast food and dining room atmosphere were very poor. Restaurant doesn't have any dinner buffet only breakfast available. Staff not so hospitality during our check in. Not patient. No top sheet on the bed, black hairs in the bathroom (we are both fair haired). Asked us to be water consious, but had old type shower head. Breakfast expensive. Room not supplied with sugar, soap, dishcloth. Forgot booked wake up call two days in a row. Air-conditioning wasn't working and staff blew it off with a non-feasible excuse. Other days not so bad, but this is our second stay with the same problems so we won't be back. WIFI should have been free staff member did not appreciate my asking for room 20 mins earlier due to my tiredness from overnight plane and just told me under T&C that rooms were not available until 2 pm-I just asked him if I could get my room at 1.40 pm. the internet is very very overpriced as for 2 days of usage is equivalent to a months subscription. Internet is expensive, not very clean. The air conditioning was on a timer & I was unable to control the climate. It would help if the front office staff where polite & helpful, and took the initiative to explain things instead of waiting to be asked for instructions. There isn't enough plugs in the room should be closer to the bed. The light switches need looking at. Staff were not very friendly or helpful. Breakfast was disappointing and badly laid out. Extra bed was very uncomfortable at $40 for xtra person in room. No peanut butter in the breakfast room, also I was going to have baked beans but there was spaghetti instead on the second day. We mistakenly thought this Travelodge was in the CBD! (I requested city views when booking). So it was a bit of a mission getting into the city on the bus. Likewise, getting to the Gold Coast, taxis can be very expensive. not as clean, hairs in bed from previous guest and on the bathroom floors. Toilet seat and bowl was filthy. The bed was a bit hard. Rather expensive for this level of hotel - have had better value in Brisbane. Location. slow lift. Bathroom needs updating shower cleaner.
