We stayed here as we had a track day at Donington park. Geography wise it's perfect, only took around 20 minutes to get to the track and gave the car a chance to warm up in case there was a noise test. There was a good selection of beers (including 4 hand pull ales, leffe on draught and the usual suspects). We had the steak special of the day, which included a mountain of dauphinoise potatoes with a lovely red wine sauce. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the meat was obviously of good .
όλα τα σχόλια » This place was a real surprise. I normally would stay in a Premier Inn for work but it was booked out. The internet in the room was good and free. The staff were really friendly. The food was excellent and was a lot better than you would expect from a pub. Colin, the owner was outstanding with his hospitality and went that extra mile to help us out with a situation which occurred whilst we were staying there. Food was good and the accommodation served our purpose as we had travelled to the UK for a funeral. Great cosy pub with fab food and choice of drinks etc. Really nice place to go and eat, food was of excellent standard. Staff were excellent and attentive. Room was great, nice and warm with everything we needed for our one night stay, car parking free. Location was spot on as we wanted to be central to a series of places. The food was very good ,a compliment to the chefs. The size and feel of the place was very good .Overall we felt we had made a good choice and would recommend it. A very welcoming Inn with its own special features hence the name. V Good food served by helpful and friendly staff. excellent location for visiting the East Midlands. Car necessary. The quality of the food was excellent, I stayed for a week and was not disappointed at all. Well deserves the AA 4 star rating. Room facilities were quite adequate and comfortable. Nice clean country style pub and rooms were clean and well presented. Free wifi was a bonus and value for money you could not beat the place. Restraunt was outstanding with very freindly staff great atmospere with log burning fire. Breakfast was a full english and was outstanding. The restaurant has a large paddle wheel behind glass, meals are good and reasonably priced,staff are friendly. Restaurant food - the range, quality and price. Good beer. Ambience. Friendliness. We had specified two single beds, but were given a double. The staff quickly fixed this though. Pay special attention to the postcode, there is a pub actually in Ticknall called "The Wheel Inn" which confused us as we drove past listening to the sat nav!. I'm not sure what I would change about this place. Perhaps a bigger tv in the room? but what I was was fine, and also had freeview with is good :). The room we had was compact and felt more like a single than a double, but was still comfortable. Nothing. If there was one thing that was a constant tic was the lack of attention to detail . The room was cleaned after being asked , no top up of the bathroom consumables over 3 days ?. Small mistakes occurred on a regular basis , nothing major and nothing that was not put right but none of it was beyond normal service . Room a little on small side. Nothing. Was not aware that they stopped serving food at 6pm on Sundays, very frustrating after a long journey to have to go somewhere else for food. Matress was very solid. lovely large bathroom,but no bath only a shower. tv old fashioned and bit small. Nothing. bedroom a little cramped -n should be bigger rooms with twin beds. No card machine working for the bill ? Had to use cash !. Small bedroom. The service for breakfast was very slow. It was 15 minutes before we even saw a member of staff. Also double check your bill. I was over charged £45 as we had someone else's dining on our overall (room and food) bill. The bathroom really needed an overhaul but would have been passable had more attention to detail been paid. The shower drain was blocked and the tiles had mould on them and needed a good scrub. The shelf above the basin wasn't clean and the towel rail was covered in dust. The floor of both bathroom and the bedroom carpet both needed replacing or at the least a good clean. too small could not check out early missed breakfast as they did not serve before 07:30 could not get a copy of my bill asked for it but still nothing loo was broken old facilities, TV was too small and didn't work. Room was very small but warm and adequate to our needs. Rooms a bit run down and very small Dirty carpet Very basic bathroom. The breakfast. The room.it was very small the towels too small and the carpet needs a good clean because it's seen days. Late checking in time Extremely long waiting times in the restaurant. Food only served up to 18.00 on the two days we were there. The main restaurant was not open. Everything. Very small room. Dusty carpet unclean bathroom floor, dust on skirting board and window blind.
