With freshly cooked food and a selection of real ales, The Star Inn dates back to the 18th century. It is situated in Thrussington, a charming village on the River Wreake, and offers free Wi-Fi throughout.
Open all day, the restaurant serves tea, coffee and snacks from 9:00 – 5:00. Continental breakfast is provided each morning, full English options are available, and there are a range of traditional pub favourites for lunch and dinner.
Rooms at The Star are spacious and sleek, with wooden furnishings. Each comes with a flat-screen TV, facilities for making tea and coffee, and a tiled bathroom with a hairdryer.
The building is located north of Leicester, just off the Old Fosse Way, the only Roman road in Britain that has kept its original Latin name. The centre of Nottingham can be reached in 30 minutes by car.

Great for one night stopover/stay. Lively environment downstairs in pub, but very quiet in bedroom areas: great! Initial glitch with swipe card entry to one of our rooms was sorted at second attempt. Food was good and service friendly and efficient.
Great bar and restaurant, excellent food and reasonable prices, friendly staff. The up-lift has raised standards while leaving the character intact.όλα τα σχόλια »
The Star Inn is a beautiful little retreat and having stayed there 2 years running I will definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone!.
The quietness of the location, the quality of the food in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet, last but not least the friendliness of the staff.
Lovely pub and accomodation, large room with great furnishings, very comfortable bed. Friendly staff and good food. Excellent value for money.
Delightful - very, very comfortable room and excellent food. If we are travelling near Leicester in the future will certainly visit again.
lovely room and although i didnt make it into the bar and restaraunt i could see it was excellent.
Lovely location and very welcoming.
Beautifully designed rooms; ability to adjust temperature and open window; very quiet night (a Wednesday).
It was fish n chip night when I stayed, excellent food and obviously very popular with the locals.
Great Rooms/ Ours and the sons Very good food.
Nice staff
Moden oak furnishings.
First-class accommodation and service.
The bedrooms were very comfortable.
Great food, exceptional staff.
Beautiful rooms.
Food very good. Clearly all freshly cooked to order. This did mean waiting a little longer than might normally be expected but well worth the wait.
Rooms and decor very modern and well appointed.
Staff friendly and pleasant.
The lady that was on duty when I arrived was quite helpful.
Pre-booked table for six for evening meal was adjacent to kitchen and toilets. Other similar tables were free, but they did fill up later.
Nothing!.
Nothing!.
I missed the fact that rooms 5 / 6 have a shared bathroom when i booked but that was my fault. fortunatly the other room was empty so didnt cause me a problem.
Couldn't see a way of calling staff's attention on arrival or to get breakfast (they thought everyone had already had breakfast and checked out!). Breakfast is fairly DIY, cooked food extra price.
Shared bathroom with single rooms, could hear bar music in my room.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Slow check in
Cooked breakfast not included in price.
A bit more attention to detail.
For example we went down to breakfast and sat at what appeared to be a freshly laid table but noticed bread crumbs on chair and table from previous users that morning. Not a major issue but should not happen. Dirty cups not replaced in room.
Cobweb in window. All minor things that did not ruin the stay. As said just need to watch the detail.
Not really ensuite as you had to depart room to corridor to get to bathroom, risking locking oneself out. I lodged my rucksack against the door to make sure this didn't happen. Really not good!
Cliquey arrangements for dinner at the hotel. I was not given the heads up that the restaurant would need booking. It was full when i went down and people were being turned away. Didn't bother asking myself, went down road to the other pub.
Way overpriced!.
