The restored Tavistock Railway Station now provides award-winning accommodation including the 2-bedroom cottage, the Porter’s Office. Around 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre, this luxurious cottage has free parking and WiFi.
The Porter’s Office sleeps up to 4 people in 1 double room and 1 twin room which can convert to a double. The downstairs bedroom was formerly a waiting room and retains its original fireplace. Both rooms have an en suite bathroom with bathrobes, slippers and toiletries supplied, one of which has a cast-iron bath.
The country kitchen and breakfast room is equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, and features wooden beams and a stone floor. There are dining areas inside and outside, on what was once a station platform.
A spacious lounge includes a flat-screen TV, DVD and CD player and an iPod dock. This room features a vaulted ceiling and fine views from the dormer window on the gallery landing.
Porter's Office, Tavistock Railway Station lies just over 1 mile from the western edge of Dartmoor National Park. The Cornish border is also close by, with the town of Callington around 10 miles west.
