The Bulls Head was a great little find. Hosts Becky & Doug (and all their staff) are the friendliest folk you could hope to meet. Nothing is too much trouble.
It's a period building with all the twists and quirks you'd expect and the rooms are fitted out accordingly. Our room was very tastefully decorated and had the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in.
Breakfast is whatever you want, prepared that minute and served just how you ask.
The restaurant has an excellent selection of im. όλα τα σχόλια »
Everything, it was closed when we got there so popped down the road. I
phoned them up to see what time we could bookin and they said come now
its no problem. When we got there we had a warm welcome a laugh about it
not been opened then we was offered a drink then shown to our room. In
the morning there were other guests having breakfast and after they had
finished we were telling stories. It is a very warm welcoming place the
owners know how to treat people and give them a perfect stay!.
The Bulls Head is a true gem. From the minute we walked into Beccy and
Dougs place we were made to feel like long lost family. The rooms are
spacious an clean, and the pub buzzing with activity. The food is
outstanding value, huge portions and the desert menu rivals any top
London restaurant. We were only here for one night (in transit) but will
be coming back for a weekend again soon.
From the minute we arrived nothing was too much trouble. Doug and Becky greeted all the guests in the morning for breakfast which Doug excellently prepared and Becky ensured that everyone had coffee and everything they needed. They also spent the time to chat with the guests to get to know about them and what their plans were for their stay. Would highly recommend a stay.
Couldn't really fault the accommodation, clean, comfortable and just what we needed on our short stay to Burton to sort out family business.
We ate in the restaurant both evenings. Food was great value for money and very enjoyable.
Overall great accommodation, food and a very warm, homely atmosphere. We would definitely consider staying again if we need to revisit the area.
The Bulls Head was just what we needed: warm, welcoming, comfortable stylish room, friendly atmosphere and excellent food.
Ideal location for days out, an ancient 17-arched bridge, lots of very different old churches at Melbourne, Beeston on the hill, Staunton Harold,Ashby de la Z (and castle !) Calke Abbey, Sudbury ...lots more we hadn't time for.Must go again.
The location was lovely and easy to get to. The staff were super and the service was great. Very friendly family run hotel and the home cooked food was delicious, I would highly recommend a visit just for the food. The few days we were there was very relaxing and we has a fantastic time. Mant thanks to Beccy ,Doug and the staff.
Extremely friendly owners - great welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. Cosy building with historic feel; no noise; no problem with arriving back there at 1am after a party. I have only dropped the Facilities from Excellent to simply Good since there wasn't an en-suite, but that was hardly a problem.
The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful in giving directions and further information. The room was spacious and well decorated. Many of the original features of this old building have been kept which is fabulous.
We enjoyed the family atmosphere , the landlord and landlady ' Bec and Dougie 'were very friendly, it felt like home from home, the food was excellent, we will definitely stay there again.
Lynne and Mike Magee.

Very comfortable room, and excellent breakfast. The owner Doug was very chatty and friendly, a pleasant stop off for one night, on our tour of England.
The beds are so comfy and the food was totally delicious not fatty and greasy, the room was very warm didn't got cold at all.

Friendly staff.
Leaving. Wish we had time to do some of the walks in area.
It rained. Thankful that the Bull's Head was warm and dry.
Nothing, would definitely recommend to others.
nothing, no negatives at all.
Nothing.
Shower not powerful but adequate for a short stay. Breakfast good but would prefer to look at a menu, and to self select cereal/fruit etc.
there could have been a bath mat to stand on after shower as the floor was wet.
N/A.
Happy with all facilities.
This is a Restaurant, not a pub. There is nowhere to go once the meal is finished & you feel out of place if you stay there taking up a table.
It would have been nice to have a bar area to sit in after dinner as it felt that we were taking up a much needed table as they were so busy.
Nothing.
Had to call to get into the place !! Shower was not very warm in the morning.
Smelly room.
No problems.
