This place has a very relaxed laid back approach and if you need any
help everyone is friendly and informative enough. The location itself is
very central and the bus from the airport shuttle bus drops you right
behind their street. The breakfast is served downstairs in the posh
boutique style hotel/restaurant which serves up really good quality

This is a B&B we will return to. At a perfect spot in “Edinburgh new town”, in the middle of shopping and restaurant areas. The building originally from early 19th century is well preserved and nicely taken to the 21st. The top floor stairs is old and torn but so full of charms. Nice rooms in harmony with building, furniture and facilities. Run by friendly owners and an adorable old cat watching the lounge. Good WI-FI. Breakfast is served at neighbouring Rick’s Hotel, really good.

All our stay was perfect. The bedroom was just like the one in the
pictures. Very clean and comfy. Great double bed. Perfect with
tea/coffee/chocolate facilities in the room. Double glass

The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. We were greeted on arrival in a friendly way and shown our very clean and spacious room, with bathroom ensuite. Our host offered an excellent recommendation for a pub for dinner. This b&b is excellent in every way. The Georgian home is most
welcoming, and is as elegantly decorated as it is comfortable. The
breakfast menu is as varied as you would find in the best hotel, and is

The room was well stocked with complimentary bottles of water every
day. A lovely china tea service with a selection of teas and shortbread
cookies as well as chocolates were in the room every day. The soaps and
shampoo were ample and well stocked. The bed, couch and chairs were
very comfortable and the room was large and had beautiful big windows.
It is also situated in a lovely quiet area with access to private
gardens nearby.

The owners are totally committed to providing a quality experience to their guests. It seems a range of languages are spoken and there were many Continental European guests though all are welcome. The location is excellent with very regular buses taking you to the city centre and sights. The great Scottish breakfast with a wide choice sets you

Nice room, very comfortable single bed (maybe a bit small, my mum fell when she was rolling over) and very quiet.
Good breakfast with self serving coffe/tea, juice, cereal and yogurt. I had scrable eggs on toast, but you can get a full Scottish breakfast.
Staff very friendly. I'd like to stay longer to interact with them.
Definitely I'll came again.

Overall quality of the place was really high including most comfortable bed I have ever slept, so clean and big room).. John was at there when we need and he is very helpful, friendly and kind. Room was very nicely and comfortably furnished, inpeccably clean that it
made me feel at home immediately. There were nearby bus stops but I had
preferred to walk (about 15 minutes to Waverley Station). A large
supermarket (Tesco) is 5 minutes away and so are a number of
restaurants. I went on a day tour that set off early in the morning and
John (the owner) gladly served breakfast earlier than usual for me, so
that was great hospitality. If it were not fully booked, I'd have
loved to stay at M

Heather was extremely nice and welcoming during our stay and we had a wonderful time at The Hedges. Breakfast is excellent and more than readies you for a full day of walking around the city. The rooms are very comfortable and well-decorated, and Heather has managed to retain the charm of the historic building while still making it warm and friend

The owner, Heather - she is lovely, extremely helpful, makes you feel very comfortable, and genuinely cares for you.
Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room itself is very charming.
The room was cosy, beautifully decorated, and charming. The shower was also excellent. Attention is paid to every detail, and I would definitely come back there!

The people at Martins Guesthouse were very friendly and the breakfast was perfect. I had the small room with a tiny ensuite bathroom on the top floor, but I knew that beforehand and I do not need much space - so it was perfectly ok for me. Overall, I can absolutely recommend Martins Guesthouse. -

The welcome was warm, the room was clean and had all the attributes of a 4* hotel, plus some. A warm comfortable bed and the room was very quiet, I probably had the best sleep for weeks. The breakfast good as you get at any 4* hotel I have stayed in up and down the country. A Great B&B, and a warm welcome to boot. I will be seeing all again soon I hope.
