Just metres from the river in the centre of Inverness, this 19th-century Victorian town house offers guest accommodation with free Wi-Fi throughout and picturesque castle views. The shops and restaurants of the city centre are just 5 minutes’ walk from Strathness House. St Andrews Cathedral is next to the building, and the train station is an easy 10-minute walk away. Rooms are traditionally furnished, and most have castle and river views. Each also features a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and an en suite bathroom. For an extra cost, breakfast is served in the house's dining room, which features high ceilings and views of the river and castle.

The location, the sense of familiarity. Being a solo traveller you felt secure and that if something went wrong there would be help. At breakfast with the other guests, while at separate tables, the host made it feel like a big friendly group. The owners know the area and were very helpful. And they even opened a day early when I arrived earlier than planned! It was a perfect location, felt safe. Loved the entire stay and would go back without a doubt. όλα τα σχόλια » The staff were incredible. We left early, before breakfast the breakfast hours had started, and they were kind enough to pack us sandwiches and fruit to take with us on the train. The rooms were bright and clean, and both the mattresses and the pillows were deliciously comfortable. (This was in contrast to previous hotels on our trip.) I would very happily stay here again. Great location right by the river in the centre of Inverness so that you can walk everywhere, including to Tesco, one block away and cafes and restaurants. Also easy to get onto road to Loch Ness. Friendly clean little hotel with cute lounge, practical for exploring the city centre. Parking possible on the street without too many problems, but you have to pay from 9-5pm. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was very good and set me up for the day. My room had beautiful views over looking the river and castle and the centre of town was only a very short walk. Excellent value. Excellent location, very comfortable, very helpful owners and staff. There is nothing I didn't like about the hotel. However, there is not much at all that I liked about the centre of Inverness - completely spoiled from what it was ten years ago. Small Shower.
