I thought we were very quickly and politely checked in. The cleaning staff of our room were particularly helpful, when we asked for a fan for our rooms. She went off and got them straight away. She was very helpful and polite. Breakfast was very enjoyable as well. Thank you for making our stay as welcome as possible. Will recommend to family and friends. The parkland and wildlife surrounding the University. On-site shopping at convenient hours was useful. The buzz of being in a student environment. The spaciousness of the architecture. Very frequent buses to Canterbury. The kindness and friendliness of the housekeeping staff. The very reasonable rates. Spacious and well-designed dining room.
όλα τα σχόλια » Great environment, fresh air and peaceful. Recommend for period during non school days. Breakfast is good. Helpful staff and free wifi! Laundry service is just 10 mins walk away. There is also a convenient store nearby. About 10 mins bus ride from city centre. (Do not attempt to walk with your luggage from city centre. Is an uphill slope). Convenient and pleasant location on campus with good bus access to the city and car access to the surrounding area. Welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable en suite accommodation (a far cry from old-style student accommodation: no sign of a stolen traffic cone or beer stains anywhere) Good full English breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Modern room very clean and fresh; good bathroom. Wired internet a bonus, although connection felt quite slow. TV (Freeview, apparently) lost a few channels during our stay, and didn't work at all on last morning; it seems that this was a failure in the block, and receiving attention. Good breakfast and other eateries on site. I liked the quiet location, the student dorms are surrounded with parks. You can easily go on foot to the city of Canterbury in 30 minutes. The student dorms were very new and clean plus we had a kitchen just a few doors away so it was easy to cook or prepare sandwiches. The late arrival did not stop the receptionist for being nice and welcoming. The security officer who was on the grounds after hours is just as helpful. My morning was blessed with a beautiful wildlife... I enjoyed feeding the ducks in the lake... The food was excellent with warm and friendly staff always willing to help. Everything in the very clean room that i needed and i also slept like a log. what more could you aks for. I would deffinately return and very highly recomend. It was brilliant being on a quiet green campus away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Canterbury. It was lovely to stroll on grounds in evening and there's even a cinema. Food at campus cafe was excellent. Staff very friendly. Breakfast ! Very Good English breakfast that helped me to run Canterbury Half Marathon. And a very simple way of giving the feedback to reception about any problems in occupied room.( check list ) And the location of dining lounge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The outlook from the room was great looking over the water and watching the ducks and ducklings. The showere was very good with plenty of hot water. definately good value for money. I'll be returning to the Uuiversity of Kent next year. The location was very good, and peaceful throughout our stay. Buses were frequent into the city centre and reasonably priced.Breakfast was buffet variety - but had lots of choices and we enjoyed it. Staff were attentive. Breakfast included. Location is convenient for those working at the university and only a 15 minute walk from the centre of Canterbury. good location within walking distance of the city. Good public transport as well. All servies available on campus. Good country feel so close to the city. Newly renovated and clean. The rooms we had were a little bit hot, but this is more to do with the design of the rooms and available fresh air due to fire doors etc. Perhaps having the option of some fans, when it is summer time might be helpful. In our case, we were very kindly accommodated with a fan when we asked for one. Lumpy mattress. Reception closed at 8pm on my arrival, necessitating security staff to provide me with a key. Lack of lighting in the grounds at night. No comfortable place to sit in the evenings without TV's blaring. Unavailability of food on my arrival. Might be a bit hard to locate the hostel if it is your first time there... There is no prominent signage from the main road. And Google map is not very helpful in this case... :P. University campus is around 1½ miles out of city, but there is an frequent bus service. 1000 check-out understandable for institutional accommodation, but perhaps a bit early for 'normal' travellers? Campus grocery shop open quite late, but on-campus restaurants seem to close from about 1900 - so you need to eat early (or go the 1½ miles into the city!). I did have a sligt bit of difficulty finding the building but that was me. Only one thing: the bedding duvet was too hot for summer. It would be nice to have just a sheet or thin blanket in summer. We visited during heat wave. Staff were not able to tell us about the two different train stations, but they can hardly be expected to be a tourist information office. Overall an excellent stay, way beyond/ better than expected. None of the listed words really describes the campus... Distance from the hotel to town when you must get there without a vehicle. About 25 minutes walk. My stay was too short: I'd have liked to have been there for a fortnight intead of a week. nothing. The only thing I didnt like was the milk in the rooms - very minor and for the price you offer exceptional value. If your fussy the cooked breakfast wasn't that high a standard but there was plenty of choice on offer and apart from the bacon I enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Nothing. would have liked somewhere on campus to eat at night after 7pm- that was the last booking time allowed in the evening. That the room did not have a mirror other than in the bathroom There was no TV. Room was tiny, only one pillow,lots of steps to the room (I was on 3rd floor) with no lift. Mattress was a bit tired. Otherwise, the room couldn't be faulted. Only one plug socket and it was under the table- made boiling the kettle difficult. The english breakfast was appalling. A lot of choice but nothing had any taste. Poor students! Also 10 am checkout is too early, especially on a Sunday. Wet room meant whole toilet floor very wet!. The breakfast. We had been looking forward to the full english breakfast but all that was on offer were overcooked suasages a few beens and tomatoes. We were told eggs and bacon would be another 10 minutes. No TV (but laptop tuner worked fine as on top of hill) Bus Frequency falls away in evening. All aspects of my stay were exemplary. Bed was hard!. There could be instructions for logging onto the wireless network on android phones. Lighting in Stairwell h was not working. rooms too hot in warm weather need air conditioning. Can't identify anything as was excellnet value for the money. Cheap mattress and sheets Distance to room(there is a fire road which runs outside our block of rooms, which I used to drop off bags. Spartan facilities No cutlery in kitchens. nothing i didn't like. Lack of good quality whisky in bar area (general comment). none. bed was not too comfortable as was rather hard. The cooked breakfast was inedible. We were given keys, told the room was to the left; it took us ages to find and two kind African gentlemen showed us how to operate the strqnge keys: More clear help from reception when wwe arrived would have been good. We were very tired and it was tiresome. The lady at the reception not much of help when asked about bus routes, times etc.
