Amid the rolling fields 15 minutes’ drive from Bath sits April Cottage, a traditional stone building providing en suite accommodation with free Wi-Fi.
Each bedroom at 189 April Cottage comes with a view of the garden, and inside the rooms have original wood beamed ceilings. All rooms come with free toiletries and tea/coffee-making facilities.
In the living and dining room, the rustic inglenook fireplace houses a wood burning stove, providing warmth for cold nights in with a good book. Alternatively, the cottage’s sun room looks out onto a pretty walled garden. There are also a piano and a CD player for guests to use.
Breakfasts are prepared on the property’s Aga cooker, and guests are welcome to use the kitchen should they need to.
Bradford on Avon is a 5-minute drive away and has many shops and restaurants, and also a train station providing access to Bristol in under half an hour.

Bradford-on-Avon is a gem of a city---historic and quaint buildings.
April Cottage was absolutely fabulous! Steve was an excellent host who also is a great cook. We enjoyed Steve's horses, watching hot air balloons fly overhead, and walking around the town. Our room was filled with antique furniture with a large attached bath and we had extensive views of the countryside. We can't say enough positive adjectives to describe April Cottage except to say we hope to enjoy April Cottage again in . όλα τα σχόλια »
Even though we arrived slightly early Steve gave us a very warm welcome. The cottage is very nicely furnished with lots of homely feel. We enjoyed sitting in a quiet and beautifull garden in the heart of the countryside.
The breakfast was very good, with lots of fresh coffee. The room was large, clean and well decorated, with superb views across open countryside. A great place to stay.
This is a wonderful B&B. Relaxed, atmospheric, beautiful house, friendly, laid back owner, wonderful location and a great breakfast. It allows you step into another world and almost instantly relax. Great access to Bradford n Avon and Bath but in the midst of the most beautiful and tranquil countryside.
The house is 300 years old and beautifully maintained. Steve the owner is charming and helpful. The countryside setting is very British with its hedgerows. The breakfast is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The bed is great and the towels are big. Best place I've stayed in.
Owner was very generous with his home....total run of kitchen and hugh living/dining area as well as a beautiful sunroom overlooking the flower garden. Breakfast was lovely and fresh.
Country is serene and is used for hikers....very lovely if you are looking for peaceful place.
It has been a wonderful stay and we were sad to leave after just one night. Lovely room, delicious breakfast and great interior. Guests were welcome to make themselves comfortable in the living room and winter garden. We definitely would want to stay there again.
Steve and John were wonderful. They did everything they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. They very kindly gave us a lift to the station and collected us on our return. The decor was tasteful and made the accommodation feel like home from home.
We loved every thing about the place. Steve's English breakfast was the best we had in England. Steve was also very accommodating by making arrangements for us to have an early breakfast as we had to depart early.
Everything. Steve, who owned and single-handedly ran the hotel, was easy-going, friendly, efficient and generous. The room was superb and the views were fabulous. Visitors were allowed to usa all the facilities.
A sociable breakfast with the other guests at a beautifully laid table - perfectly cooked bacon and poached egg.
April cottage is just for the guests so you have the whole of the downstairs to relax in.
Lovely surroundings, nice double room, breakfast great, but also had evening meals which were delicious and great value for money. Steve was extremely helpful and welcoming, very pleasant stay.
We had an excellent stay. Steve was a wonderful host. Offered to go above and beyond our expectations. We also had a lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
The cottage is around 350 years old and totally fascinating. The facilities in the rooms were very modern and very adequate. Steve was very helpful indeed.
Ideal location to our wedding venue. Gorgeous cottage with friendly staff & a yummy breakfast. Kind service taking us back to our car in the morning,.
The atmosphere, the breakfast, the service, laying in the middle of nature close to Bath and many sightseeing sites, plus numerous walking possibilities.
Everything about April Cottage enhanced the pleasure of our mini break. Nothing was too much trouble for Steve the host and we felt truly pampered.

the whole experience was a pleasure, including the hosts , food , and facilities.
It was 1 mile off the main road, and perfectly quiet, other than bird song.

Wonderful host, clean rooms, excellent sense of detail.
Friendly owner. Deliciousbreakfasst. Good location.
Beautiful cottage, welcoming owner, very cosy.
Location, countryside, rustic, homely.
Our stay at April Cottage was too short!.
Nothing.
It's a bit hard to find but it's worth the trouble. Ask a friendly neighbour for assistance.
The address is misleading. The cottage cannot be found on Google maps or GPS because it is not in Bradford on Avon BUT in Little Ashley. It's a long narrow road into the country. Post Office and other town residents didn't know of an address called Ashley Green. We spent an hour looking for the place and initially the owner was not available by cell phone....Finally reached him and he "walked us" through the trip into his remote home in the country.
Only the location that was a bit far away: It wasn't so easy to get to, as a walker, but I had a friend to drive me there, in the end. Steve kindly gave me a lift to the local train station at the end of my stay.
Nothing.
We liked everything!.
The location is not at all obvious, but that's what mobile pohones are for I suppose.
Two minor quibbles: glass mugs in our room ( didn't really fit in ) and a wobbling wardrobe.
Nothing.
Not enough water pressure to operate the shower.. But a minor issue.
Would be good if there was a curtain or something to enable a proper shower, but that wouldn't stop us going there!.
The road in is a fun challenge for those not used to narrow hedge-lined roads.
N/A.
Problem with TV reception, but this gave me a chance to read my book.
Maybe a few subtle direction signs in the hedges needed?.
Couldn't stay longer!.
nothing.
Limited hanging space. Will go back again and upgrade to a bigger room.
It is difficult to find, needs some local sign posts.
nothing.
thin walls.
Nothing.
