This family-run, Edwardian guest house has picturesque views across Ambleside and the surrounding fells and mountains. We were made really welcome but given our privacy. The bedding was beautiful quality and the bathroom facilities were compact but efficient. The location in town was perfect, everywhere is a minute's walk, the views were gorgeous from front or back of the house but it was still quiet. Breakfast was delicious and served with real leaf tea!. Welcoming and friendly. My single room and ensuite were decorated in a modern, relaxing style. warm room, plenty of hot water for showers and a hairdryer. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of hot dishes as well as cereals, juice, toast, fruit and yogurts. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Rysdale and would highly recommend it to others.

Due to the summer heat, if the window was open I lost a lot of sleep, but grew accustomed to the noise after. Parking was a worry, but that's normal, and wasn't really necessary. Needs more decorating, (lounge area), and to change the dated furniture, (re-vamp the upholstery), to modernise it, to make it more 'user-friendly'. Think: 'Light and airy!'. Very small ensuite, parking was a bit of an issue as it was really busy and there is no specific parking for the B & B. Leaving!. nothing. Nothing to dislike. Slight wait for breakfast. Ambleside very crowded in September. Next time will stay out of main tourist area. Parking was a little difficult, no parking at the hotel itself so you have to look around Ambleside for a spot. There was nothing to dislike. nothing. Nothing. There wasn't anything I didn't like. nothing. Possibly start breakfast at 8am. The fact that I had to leave!! I wanted to stay there!!!. Nothing. Breakfast was from 8 30 till 9 am only and very noisy on second night. None.
