Where do I start with this hotel... Absolutely divine! Beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds, beautiful food in restaurants, option of bars. In the middle of khoa lak centre. I absolutely loved it here. Fantastic place of you want to take children, there's a separate pool that can be used and an adult 'peace' pool that could not be used by children. Stayed here for 3 nights and wished that we'd stayed longer! Most definitely a 5* resort and highly, highly recommended. Also had a follow up e-m.

My son loved it there too! We stayed at the pool villas which I recommend highly if you have kids. I would definitely come back & am planning to stay at The Sands again. The sands had accomodates for Families as well as young/older people. Amazing buffet breakfasts, 2 restaraunts at the resorts - close to other restaraunts and on the beach where you can find more food! Staff are super friendly and accomodating! Swim Up bar is pretty good too! Amazing sunset views around 6 really good view from The lobby. High quality facility which is family friendly and away from the hussle and bustle of Phuket. Very new, fresh and affordable. Great restaurants within walking distance and all of the shopping you need without much less selling pressure. Beautiful resort. Has everything you need on premises and seems to have lots of kids attractions. Restaurants are nice yet expensive for thailand. Food was good. Great beach and pools. Was a great stay for the end of our trip. Rooms were beautiful and spacious. Staff excellent. Games room excellent. Provided wet weather activities when wet. Pools beautiful. Breakfast great selection and quality. The sands resort was lovely, everything was perfect from the breakfast to the rooms to the staff. The facilities were excellent. We had a fantastic time and will be back again. Everything! The resort was in a great location. Lovely and clean. Staff great, although not a lot of English speaking.. We were in Thailand. :) Great food cold Chang. The bed was the most comfortable one I have ever slept in. The beach and sunsets were spectacular. Breakfast was very nice and the whole place was peaceful. Bright, casual lay out of rooms, family friendly great kids room, perfect position, beautiful breakfast, excellent gym. Wifi in rooms was a little intermittent as it seemed it would be if you would be able to connect to hotspots - but seriously, that's the only negative thing I can think of - and who wants to be on the net when you're in a hotel like this. Far better things to do with your time!!!. Probably the wedding planner needed to speak better English. If you choose to have your wedding there make sure to have an English/Thai speaking person. I understand due to rain we had to do a Plan b but having the bride to be & bridal party wait over two hours was ridiculous!! It ended up being fabulous but there was no catering to us while your waiting. A little expensive comparing to other resorts / hotels with similar characteristics in Thailand. I did not like that is cost me 1000 Baht more per night to book through Bookings.com than it would of had I of booked direct with resort. I had to leave. Kids club should stay open longer than 5pm. Staff at happy hour not so knowledgeable with regards to cocktails. Nothing. Distance to and from the airport is over an hour. The sand on the beach is not white and is not as fine as on Phuket. Rocks on the beach. lack of chairs in the room. Nothing. A certain lack of charm Slightly too crowded Only 2 swimming pooms are available for all. Three others are for pool access rooms only. One is for kids. Only one is for grown ups, and not so big. The rain. Various building maintenance works - scaffolding etc. It can get boring after 2-3 days... There are no malls around. A bit boring. Long distance from room to beach/pool. Negotiation with Sands Tuk tuk driver to take us to shops. The pool bar arrangement of having to sign a seperate receipt for each purchase, maybe look at swiping room card as means of directly charging room. Not a major complaint!. hotel taxi is expensive... Juice at breakfast should be natural-not from bottle. Nothing to do at night in the hotel. Drinks in bar poor quality. The guy who attended as on checkin was very slowly make us to spend too much time prior to enter the room (which smelt bad and we requested to change to other room). At checkout we were charged with about 2euros for a broken ash-tray (It's not for the cost, but I think is a bit cheapskate to act as). In general I think the hotel doesn't pay the cost it has. We had been in better hotels for half of the prize. appalling staff,poor training.
