Excellent location which would be extremely difficult to beat. Even staying in the old town (Citta Vecchia) of Locarno is not as convenient as Hotel Rio Garni.

Hotel had been fully refurbished and was well equipped, excellent decor and very clean. Breakfast was good, which could be taken outside on the verandah. Parking is good - either right outside the hotel or in excellent secure garage about 100m up the road. Parking must be reserved as they only have 5 spaces in the garage and at the hotel. Location

Huge and amazing apartment. We stayed at the garden floor one, the big one. Extremely fun. Wireless works great. The owner doesn't know english at all, so either you know Italian or some other Euro language, or be ready to use Google Translate. Overall, a truly excellent place for kids.

Close to the Casino. Have been to a few 3 star's in Italy and this is definately one of the best, stunning view of lake and mountains, obviously rooms have been renovated, comfortable bed, descent sized bathroom, nice restaurant for dinner, good Italian buffet breakfast. Don't expect english buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff. - Great attitude

We'd liked a lot the environment of the hotel/hostel, with the nice green area all around and a great breakfast. I have booked a room for two on the new area, which is really nice, new and cosy; and another bed only on the common area. On arrival they nicely suggested an extra bed on the room, which I accepted after checking the space (only a litt

The old hotel was charming and picturesque. Beautiful grounds. We booked there at the beginning and end of our trip. Our second stay we were moved to the newer Park Continental hotel, which was newer and quite elegant. They also have an annex, which is not as nice, and we were moved there as the Montarina was full. The room was smaller with no frills, a definite downgrade. Still, the location is good, the staff very accomodating, and the value for the area is very good.
