Fatima and Patxi are such nice hosts, they really make you feel at home. We extended our stay a few days to be able to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere a bit longer. The house is situated in the hills above hondarribia, a 5 minutes drive from town and the beach.You should arrive in daylight, as the car gps not necessarily knows the location, but from

Charming hosts, very friendly and helpful. Lovely spot high above the town with beautiful sweeping views. Comfortable room with additional sitting areas for reading and breakfast. Nice pool. We enjoyed our hosts stories of fishing and cooking especially. Very much like visiting good friends. -

From the moment we arrived Bixen, the owner, made us feel very welcome. The room was large, clean and the bed do comfortable. The views are fabulous, but you need to go to appreciate how pretty it is and quiet. Too tip, it is off the beaten track but follow the signs for Higer (lighthouse) which is not around the coast as I thought and you will so

The facilities, room and situation are unbeatable. Overlooks east to the
Spanish (Hondaribbia) and French (Hendaye) towns. The owner / host
is a young enthusiastic, energetic, charming and helpful man...
Etc...this is a fantastic place to stay and explore the intriquing
Basque area. It is a bit hard to find. Set the sat nav to find the (also
excellent) 'Arroka berri' restaurant. Keep going up the hill and
look for the green signs to cr higeralde. Pay attention for the hidden

personnel was absolutely wonderful,helpful and friendly.We had a problem with our daughter and they did all the best to help and let us feel as at home.Breakfast was super and also restaurant had very good food at a convenient price.Bedroom was very clean,big and comfortable.The whole structure is romantic and nice.We highly recommend this hotel.

Everything, Etxalar is excellent.
The 3 star rating is misleading should be higher.
This wonderful Hotels price includes a breakfast which would cost at least 8 euros a person in France and yet it is only 20/30 mins from the French Border.
A car is essential, however due to the rural location which is fantastic.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean and fresh. Even though he only spoke Basque, the family patriarch went to great lengths to ensure we understood that the best way into San Sebastian was by bus, not our car. Astigarraga is 5kms from San Sebastian, bus cost is 1.60 euros and departs every 15 minutes. Excell

Clean! Dialis, owner is very helpful and spoke more English than we did Spanish. Only 1.60 euro to San Sebastian on bus. good parking, Good shower, Great balcony. must go to "Iretza" restaurant within walking distance. great internet connection.
