Location - it was right in the middle of town which made it very convenient to walk everywhere. All the bars/clubs, snow rentals, and adventure centres were either across the street or a max. 2 minute walk. Value for money - Double room (2 people) ended up being about $45 each, per night. Definitely worth it if you don't want to share a room/bathroom with other people. The reception staff are so helpful and friendly. Its very clean throughout. On the level right in the town centre. This was my third trip to YHA central and it never disappoints. The best place to stay in Queenstown. Last year I stayed with my 88yr old Mother!!!! Everyone was wonderful.

Location. Just wished they had a lift, lugging our 200lb!!!! suitcases up two flights was rather challenging...... but then the price would go up. Fab place to stay. No complaints. No fridge in the room but a communal one was provided in the hall. Was a neat place - nothing to dislike. If I were to be picky I would have liked a small fridge in the room but it is a backpackers so no complaints. Some staff not knowledgable about area Closing times for Kitchen and especially Laundry (hard to fit around day skiing). Accomodation a little 'tired' could do with an update. Decor was a bit old. Noise from nearby rooms in early hours of the morning. hat has happened to the good old YHA rules about 10:00PM quiet time or OUT! (Same poor experience in the otherwise excellent Franz Joseph YHA. No soap in shower. none. 1. No elevator to upstairs, have to take heavy luggage by stairs. 2. the facilities are quite outdated, but fairly clean. No parking. No soap or shampoo in the room. furniture looks old. Poor tv channels and reception, no fridge in room. Shower - hot water espeically at night was not hot enough!!!.
