I certainly recommend this place as an excellent base for exploring the
city of Amsterdam, whilst being able to retreat to a nice peaceful haven
away from the hustle and bustle. I emailed Rene before our trip and he
gave us some excellent advice regarding transport to the boat and how to
get about during our stay. We landed at Schiphol, jumped on the train
(the station is in the airport so really easy) to Amsterdam Centraal
station (3.40 Euros each). When we arrived at the station we went

The location which was quiet, the breakfasts were great, the bed was large and very compfortable,the coffee maker, the cleanliness of the place the most important of all to us.
The weather was so cold and awfull for our trip, we spent a lot of time on the boat, it was warm, there were hundreds of good DVDs so we watched loads, and fed the swans, and ducks through the open window!
The continental breakfasts were great,I could go on and on but suffice to say exellent value for money in every w.
The concept of breakfast whenever you want is great. Why did nobody think of this before. There was loads of food. We ate some for supper before we went to bed. The area is really good - residential and very reasonable in the bars. The owner is really nice. The ducks and swans are a real treat. Loved the little terrace on the water.
Everything worked very well - the directions, all the appliances, bathroom etc. The bed was comfy and it was very quiet at night. Nice to have ducks float past the window. Rene was helpful and always available but never intrusive. Highly recommended.
Rene was the perfect host, making us feel very welcome. Lovely to receive an amazing breakfast delivered every morning. Living on a houseboat was a unique & enjoyable experience. Warm with modern facilities - and a short walk into town.

- When arriving at Schiphol Airport, take a train to the Central Station
- Walk out of Central Station (frontside) and walk towards the Victoria Hotel. In front you'll see the busstops. Take bus 22 at the stop 'F', direction 'Indische Buurt'
- Get off at the stop that is called 'Funen'
- Continue walking for about 200 meters. Turn right and turn the first left. You have arrived at the Bed Breakfast Boat.
