This place is just wonderful! Who would have believed that in a country like Kazakhstan we would find a guest-house better than 90% of the hotels I have stayed at around the world, incl Europe and the US! The location is just unbeatable - it feels like you are in a country-side home, but 10 minutes walk away you are suddenly in the centre of the city! The place is perfectly quiet, I have had the best sleep in months there - and I am a sensitive sleeper. The landlord, Vladimir, has built the hou.
όλα τα σχόλια » The staff was super friendly and very very helpful, whatever you need. (They offered us taxi-service at any time of the day... For free!) Breakfast was immens and very affactionately cooked, the elderly lady made chicken, pasta, salads etc. and we talked although nobody really speaks english (as in all Kazachstan, actually). The rooms itself are clean and quite large with air conditioner, TV, fridge, free WiFi and queen sized beds. The location was quite ok, you reach Hotel Kazachstan in an few. Brand new small guesthouse in a quiet street, a few minutes on foot from the centre of Almaty, with 2 spacious, very clean and nicely decorated rooms with private bathroom (toilet, shower), TV and airconditioning. The one at the back has a terrace. One small room is still under construction. Copious and delicious breakfast on whatever time you like. The owners are superkind and always willing to help you out e.g. while finding a taxi (or even playing taxidriver themselves without charge!). Free. Owner Vladimir was very personable and helpful. The airport shuttle was very important to me. He was there waiting with a sign with my name. He then cheerfully took me back to the airport at 4am in the morning!! The hotel is family run which adds a very friendly and warm feel. The facilities are great the room could easily have handled my wife and 2 kids. Everything was clean. Very nice and friendly owner. Vladimir, the host is a very friendly man who goes to a lot of trouble to make sure his guests are comfortable. We loved the fact that the airport trips were included in the price of the room and the home cooked breakfast,. * Extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable (family) staff * Location close to Kazakh Hotel therefore restaurants * More of a 'homestay' layout * Beautiful gardens and building fixtures (high quality). The Host was a very nice man, he´s English was not very good but he really try to help you with everything. very friendly and helpful ,location great. would go back. every thing is organize clean and very friendly. Copious breakfast Transfer the airport. Honestly, whatever problem may arise - Vladimir will be happy to fix it for you if you ask him. In our case, Internet worked on the Galaxy Tab, but took some time (many hours) to start working on the smartphone. None (keep in mind that the owners are Russian speaking and only have limited knowledge of English, as almost everywhere in Kazakhstan, a little bit of patience, creativity and 'google translate' will compensate for this). Due to a storm during the evening of my arrival the hotel lost electricity. The back-up generator was too small to handle the basic needs of the hotel. So an important upgrade needed is an adequate, larger generator. * only problem internet was not working. Nothing.
