Yamakyu features classic Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi. Indoor and outdoor public baths are available for guests to relax in. JR Takayama Train Station is a 20-minute walk away and a free shuttle service is provided from the station. The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. A TV, yukata robes, safety box, towels and green tea bags are provided. Includes a private toilet but bathrooms are shared. Guests can enjoy the beautiful Japanese garden or request for relaxing massages. There are 2 computers at the lobby that guests can use. Complimentary coffee and a computer with free internet access are available as well. Local products can be purchased at the souvenir shop. There is a washing machine on site that guests can use for an additional fee. A traditional multi-course meal is served for dinner and a Japanese set menu is available for breakfast. All meals are served at the dining room. Yamakyu Inn is a 5-minute walk from Old Town, Takayama Jinya and the morning market. Hida No Sato Folk Village is a 20-minute bus ride away.

Authentic Japanese ryokan/spa with tatami room with private toilet and sink, public bath and spa on the premises. Half-board plan with breakfast and dinner in the dining room: excellent, beautifully presented dishes. The staff was outstanding, particularly Koishi, fluent in English and quick to respond to special requests. We stayed at another hotel the night before, and Koishi agreed to pick us up upon checkout from there, bring us and our luggage to Yamaku, and keep our luggage until their co.
όλα τα σχόλια » Yamakyu was wonderful. A very welcoming and relaxing ryokan with an excellent evening meal and great Japanese breakfast, and no diffi\culty adapting these for a vegetarian diet. On leaving, our host offered to drive us to the station (depite it being only a few minutes walk), and he very kindly arranged to send forward an item that we had left in the room - at no charge. We could not have asked for better. Thanks to all for a lovely stay. We had a wonderful stay at Yamakyu . The owners are very personable and helpful. We were picked up from the train station at a short notice . The meals at the ryokan were some of the best meals we had in Japan. The atmosphere was like being at home - sitting next to a heater with coffee/tea and an english newspaper. The room was great, clean and comfy - and staff very welcoming! The hotel is we placed for looking around hillside shrines and is a short walk to the markets, the shuttle bus was very handy as I was arriving with backpack in tow! The Japanese dinner and breakfast were both lovely. We enjoyed the staff. It was nice. She took pictures of us and appreciated our business very much. The dinners and the breakfasts were very Takayama and that was lovely. Yes it has tatami flooring, and that is a great thing because it is such a unique experience. The staff speak good English and they are very helpful and polite. They took picture for us that is really a good gesture. The decoration are nice and they display some old furniture and stuff which are interesting. The onsen was really nice and the shared showers were clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful, they picked us up and dropped us off at the station and the breakfast and dinner we had there were superb. we arrived to takayama and got picked up from the train station, the staff was amazing and kind, very helpfull to make our trip un forgetten thank u for everything, this is the place to stay in takayama. I liked everything about the place and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone I know that is travelling to Japan. I think the service the food the hot baths and the friendly employees where great. Takyama is a small town so everything is close. The hotel itself was very cozy We felt like a traditional Japanese house. Dinner and breakfast were excellent! There is a tatami beds it a fun experience. The staff was amazing. Everyone so friendly and they helped us find a day trip to the Okuhida Onsen. They also have bikes available for use which we took advantage of. Truly extraordinary hotel. Dinner was fantastic at the price it was offered, service was great, room spacious and comfortable, public bath enjoyable. Do stay here!. Very nice ryokan stay, friendly english-speaking staff and convenient pickup from the train station. We enjoyed the hoba miso breakfast very much. Everything was just lovely- can't fault it. Very Good Service, very friendly People, excellence Dinner. clean and staff is very helpful. Very nice service!!. I really liked it all. One thing, though, for a Western guest: the tatami ensuite room is small. There is a low table and cushions that they move aside while you are at dinner in order to make room for your sleeping pads on the floor (with down comforters and nice linen). If you need a chair, they will bring you some small seats if you ask. Breakfast and Dinner everyday is difficult because there is so much food, so I'd recommend doing each for 1 day just for the experience (and the taste!). No private bathroom in the rooms. It's probably a little far to walk to from station with all your luggage but the hotel will pick you up if you call them. We had no problem walking to and from station are when we were sight seeing during our stay. Nothing. the onsen was very small. Only one public shower for everyone without bathroom in the rooms. Too far to go walking around the mid town. Nothing. Room is quite small. wifi is very slow at the 2nd floor.

The property's shuttle bus leaves JR Takayama Station at the following times: 13:15 / 15:15 / 16:15 / 17:30 To use the hotel's free shuttle, please make a reservation at least 1 day in advance and specify at which time guests would like to take the shuttle. Contact details can be found on the booking confirmation. Guests without a dinner meal plan can check-in until 22:00. The hotel has a curfew at 23:00. Guests cannot enter or leave the hotel after this time. Guests with a tattoo may not be permitted to enter public bathing areas and other public facilities.
