B & B Viva Nikko provides non-smoking rooms with Western-style beds, an LCD TV and a fridge. Some rooms are carpeted and others have traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring. Toothbrushes and Nemaki sleeping robes are available for a fee.
The hotel is a 5-minute walk from JR Nikko Train Station and 2.2 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine. Kegon-no-Taki Waterfall is 20 km away. There is a convenience store across the street.
A free-use microwave and internet PC are available, and luggage can be kept at the reception. Free coffee and tea is provided at the lobby from 16:00-23:00.
The simple breakfast usually consists of bread with jam, an egg dish, coffee and yoghurt with fruit, and is served from 07:00-09:00.

The hotel is very close to Tobu Nikko Station, if you take Tobu line the hotel is just 5 mins walk from station. Food and convenient stores are available near hotel. Breakfast is very nice. (It's free, included in room rate) Room is clean. I booked for twin room but got 3 beds which I could relax to leave my child in an extra bed.

Hotel is situated near the JR station (5 minutes walk). Opposite to the bus station for exploring the surroundings. Hotel staff is friendly. Breakfast is simple but good. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Definitely a good base for exploring Nikko.
close to train station, friendly old man in counter if you are guest. can understand english a bit. very clean. nice tatami room. ill definitely book there again.
The breakfast was very nice! The location is great for bus trips to all major sightseeing spots and is very close to the Tobu Nikko station.
It is located very near to the Nikko station. Very convenient. Service is good. Everyroom has wifi. Very good value for money.

The weather is very cold at night. (november) The window closed not much tight so wind still get through and feel so cold. However, there is the heater in bed which helps you warm.
a bit high in price in base on their small facilities and compared to other similar small hotel.
They should not allow smokers to smoke in the hallway. Although ventilators were installed, the smell of tobacco can still seep in under the door. This is not very pleasant for a non-smoker who wish to have fresh air to breathe.
Difficult to find good restaurants nearby. Limited selection.
