one who did so we could get directions or recommendations on nearby

A very personal hotel with "family feeling". Excellent location; perfect to be able to walk to all sights in the day and then just cross the bridge to have dinner in Trastevere in the evening. Very friendly people that were both very welcoming, helpful and keen to make sure we had a nice stay. This place is a Trastevere gem! The location is fantastic, right in the heart of all of the action (noise wasn't too bad, didn't have to use the ear plugs I brought). It is very well located near Trastevere and Campo Di Fiori. The place is very small, it is only one floor with 3 rooms and a small kitchen to have breakfast but rooms are clean and confortable.
Betta is the person in charge of receiving customers and cleaning the rooms and she was very kind with us. -

Location is superb! I walked only. Never taken any bus. So from the hotel I could easily go to Vatican easily via Emmanelle II and all the attractions such as Piazza Navona and Pantheon were really close by. There were many great restaurants in the distance as well. It takes about 30 minutes walk from hotel to Colosseo.

I would really recommend Four Rivers as it was in a fantastic location and the staff were brilliant. It was within easy walking distance to all the major sites and luckily for me there was a close by taxi rank, which was helpful, as I was unfortunately on crutches during my stay. We stayed here in February 2013 and our stay was great. The hotel was in a great location where we were able to walk to all attractions. The hotel is on a street where there is plenty of great restaurants and bars to relax in the evening before you head back.
The hotel room was large for Europe and the staff was very nice & helpful. The hotel is on the 3rd floor of an apartment building and has 4-5 private rooms. There is an elevator and they provide keys for access to the building.
