The hotel was very close to the airport and very easy to get to even though my flight arrived at midnight. There was someone to greet me at this late hour and also a welcome snack. The hotel was clean and tidy. I was allowed to leave my bag at the hotel while I looked around Pisa the next day. -

The staff is very good. He is polite and very helping. the kitchen at the ground floor + dinining room is good. The hotel has only four rooms and so even if the kitchen is shared one, you may find it not very difficult.

km from the Pisa Tower so is fine if you have a car. Around you can eat
real italian food and not the tourist food you get around the Tower.

Strategic position: walking distance from station and airport; the staff was helpful; room was clean, had AC, TV and free wi-fi. I had to stay there for one night, and take a flight the day after and I paid a small price for a room with a shared bathroom, but ended up using the bathroom by myself, as they put me in a floor where everyone else had their own en-suite. Staff is there 24-hour a day. -
Owner Chiara was fantastic, always amenable and helpful, bright smile, friendly, and always found the time for you. Hotel staff were unobtrusive and kept the rooms spotless. Little things like changing the towels twice and the bed once for a three night stay are things not found in some 3 & 4 star hotels. Full marks for the Moderno, a 2 star hotel, with a 4 star service and a 5 star owner.

What I liked most is that hotel was very very near to Pisa Centrali station. We didn't spend any time in locating it. Also, bus connectivity to Pisa was very good and we reach the tower in just 10 minutes.
Breakfast was very good with lots of choices.

Michele, the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was very helpful on advising us how to reach the main sights and suggested and booked a great restaurant for us. The following morning after a really good breakfast Michele drove us to the airport. I don't think I've ever had such service.

The host, Michele, was so enthusiastic about his property and Pisa. The property was superb, it had the best facilities of all establishments we visited on our tour of Italy, even tea & coffee making in the room and a computer. Motion sensing lights in the public areas, thoughtfully placed lighting in the rooms, and the bathrooms featured Michele's photographs in ceramic tiles - beautiful. he also listened to our plans and made helpful suggestions to maximise the time in Pisa.
