I really enjoyed my stay at the Alfholl Gueshouse. The owner Kristjan is very nice and follows up with you to find out what time your flight arrives/leaves to makes sure everything is in order. The facilities are super clean and the location is right in downtown and you can easily access the harbour, various restaurants and other activities.The on

Good location, friendly owner and nice big (single) room.
Even though the check-in time is until 22:00 I could still arrange to enter well past midnight due to a late flight arrival.

The interior of the house is very nice, the shared areas as well as guests' rooms are furnished with taste. 1 bathroom for 2 rooms (not for the whole guesthouse). What is particularly remarkable about the place is that nearby there is a modern art sculptures garden.

I think it is not easy to find such a good hotel in the center of Reykjavik. The hotel is just beside the church, very convenient, quiet and clean. Very friendly. I had a bit of a problem getting in and the owner was so apologetic & helpful that more than made up for it. He didn't charge me for that night & even offered a free dinner and a whale tour. Exceptional customer service for a minor in convenience. I would strongly recommend this guesthouse. -

Everything went very smoothly - there's no one physically on reception, just a telephone to ring for details of how to get the key etc, but we had no problem arriving at midnight and there was always someone on the other end of the phone if we needed help or information.
Very accommodating letting us leave our bags somewhere for a while after check out.
Very well equipped kitchen with crockery, utensils etc. and we appreciated the fact that there was already tea and coffee available.

Good clean and warm guesthouse. Very warm, casual and homely welcome from owners Edda and Runar. Very clean, comfortable and warm room with good fast wifi Internet. It was all very new and clean. The room was a bit small but comfortable enough, the bed was good. Upon arrival we met an Asian lady who welcomed us otherwise there was never anyone around. -
The staff is super kind and the rooms are very cozy and clean. The location is also very convenient (1 min) to get into the main walking street in Reykjavik.
