This hotel didn't look like much from the outside but was beautiful and comfortable on the inside. The staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant available to customers served very delicious food. This hotel is a good place to be for day trips to see nature ( mountains, glaciers, puffin tours, hiking,horseback riding etc...) we enjoyed our stay v

Very friendly staff. The food at the restaurant was great and the proximity of Geirland to Kirkjubaejarklaustur was very convenient. The nearby waterfall and the "church floor" formation was nice as well. Great location for day trips to Skaftafell or Hofn.

Room was enormous. Hotel seems to be mostly used by bus tour groups. We ate late to avoid the crowds, though had to ask for some food to be re-stocked. Recommend the pizzas from shop at the rear of the hotel. -
location excellent size of room and good shower helpful staff clean room fresh watermelon at breakfast

Despite the fact that the hotel overbooked and sent us to an alternative
location for our first night, their customer service recovery was
excellent...we got placed in the best bungalow, received a free nights

Hotel Manager Jon and staff made sure that we were comfortable. The
food choice and preparation for us was awesome since we were the only
couple that evening having dinner. The hotel is in winter operation,
thus visitors have dropped off. Jon exchanged culture info with us.
Made many suggestions as to where to visit Icelandic historical sites
nearby. Gave a very informative talk on the geological activity in the
region. The hotel room was very comfortable with plenty of hot water.

We stayed at the Hotel Vestmannaeyjar for 3 days and it was absolutely amazing! First of all we had booked a basic double bedroom but we soon found out that the owners had given us one of the suites, as it was available. Moreover, the owners were lovely and helpful people! From day-1 both they gave us excellent hints about what to see, where to go

This is our second stay at Hotel Vestmannaeyjar in two years and we hope to go back again. The owner, Magnus, is such a nice person. He keeps us coming back along with the fact that we love Heimaey.

The room was huge, clean and very comortable. The main building has a nice restaurant serving buffet at night. It's expensive but it's iceland, and the food was very good, with a choice of local products. Same for breakfast. The hotel has an outside hot pot open 24h which is very good after a busy day or in the morning before breakfast as well as

We were in what looked like brand new rooms at Hotel Katla Hofdabrekka. The location is very convenient to Vik and many outdoor activities along the southern coast of Iceland. We ran into a problem with something we wanted to do and the hotel staff was fabulous in helping us to find a solution -- a local personal tour guide. Very, very nice accomodations.

The view from room was spectacular. The slope looked like pure Iceland. The room was comfortable and spacious. Charming in every way. The breakfast buffet was lavish. - location, spaceous interior, friendly helpful staff

Staff (read: the one person at the reception) was extremely helpful, smiling and went out of his way to help. The hotel is the best option in Vik which is a very small town ... conveniently located across the road from a gas station and store & restaurant -
