Excellent location, very close to train station and many restaurants...just a few steps to the lovely lake area. It's close to shopping and sights, too, and if you're not too burdened with luggage, you can walk from the cruise center (we did, with 50-pound bags). The staff was very friendly and very helpful with directions. Location was excellent: 3 closeby train stations and very central, beside Alster lake, closeby touristy spots. The standard of the hotel is very high, across the board. We received a pleasant welcome and were escorted to our brand new, spotless room (of 5 star standard) where we spent two relaxing days. The walk from the train station does involve passing by several "exotic" shops and streetwalkers, but this is germany, and any hotel near to a railway station is going to involve an interesting walk.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. Also, the hotel was right on the lake, just a few steps away from several lakeside restaurants (which had indoor and outdoor seating). Close to the center of Hamburg and close to S and U- Bahn. Rather close to Lidl. Refridgerator and electric kettler in the room. Free coffe in the morning, even if you didn't have breakfast at the hotel. Helpful and nice staff. Excellent.We stayed in this hotel only for one night , but it is suffice to say that we felt homey. Commodious , cleanness of the rooms , very good breakfest. If we will come again to the Hamburg , we will prefer to stay in this hotel. Thanks for all staff so much ! - Very helpful and friendly front desk staff. Restaurant was good.
