Having a kitchenette and the ability to use laundry to wash clothes.
Ended up having a longer stay there due to air travel problems and chose to
go back there rather than somewhere else

The Alster Hof was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Hamburg. The hotel is located close to downtown shopping, the staff are very friendly and helpful (eg. went out of their way to help knowing that I was unwell during my stay), a comprehensive breakfast and free internet access were provided and it was very well priced. -

Very friendly and humorous staff. Nice, clean and spacious room/bathroom. Conveniently located next to Altona station with easy access to everywhere. We had reserved paid parking in the basement but still the receptionist gave us the choice to cancel it and park on the street for free. Free Wifi. This is the place to stay if you are in Hamburg

I was totally impressed with the Hotel and it's staff and not to mention the close proximity to the public train system. Best bang for your buck for those travelers looking to country hop and need a clean and comfortable room. I've been traveling in Europe for two months and will now only stay at Meininger Hotels. Thanks again for the A+ experience.

The hotel staff was really helpful, lot's of parking space around the hotel. Area was really friendly with lots of space and nature. Subway station Wandsbek Markt brings you downtown Hamburg in about 10 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the hotel. -

Close to the center of Hamburg and close to S and U- Bahn. Rather close to Lidl. Refridgerator and electric kettler in the room. Free coffe in the morning, even if you didn't have breakfast at the hotel. Helpful and nice staff. The staff was very kind, she they waited for us and explained some tips and POI of Hamburg, very kind and helpfully staff. the room was good and clean, also comes with a kitchen.
The hotel is not very far from downtown as you may think, just 10 min in S-Bahn (S1(airport-bahnhof) or S11), and something less than 10min on foot. -

Good vibe ; Very friendly staff, very helpfull with the children; Nice big rooms; Enjoyable place - design, furnitures used, restaurant was definitely not like typical hotel-restaurant, but a very nice and cosy one.
