it's a youth hostel in name but its more like a hotel. It's very clean, modern and spacious. The general decor is tasteful and it's quiet. It has 7 floors. The buffet style breakfast is simple but very nice. The room was nice and comfy. At night I couldn't hear other guests or noise from the street. It was good value for money and well located. Its across the river so to go to the city centre it's a 15 minute walk across the bridge. In the area around the hostel there are restaurants and some b.
όλα τα σχόλια » I was very surprised by this hotel! I was attending a conference and all hotels were fully booked in Cologne so the only fair option was this hotel. I was expecting a terrible hostel but actually I got a nice and spacious room with a view to the cathedral!!! The room was simple but very clean with a comfortable shower and wc. I highly recommend if you want a great location in Koln for a very good price. Staff was great, breakfast simple. The building is also new. Ask for room 703!. Good location, very close to Koln Messe/Duetz train station. Besides, very clean room with lowest price. If I have an opportunity to come here again, it will be my first choice with no doubt. The position is good: near the bridge, and the railway station(the next station of the Cologne main station) is just on the opposite side. The water is good. The breakfast is good. Great rooms very well priced, clean and great atmosphere! Stayed with a group of friends and the centre of Cologne is just a 10 minute walk away!. The value. Sheets included, Clean and tidy, really low price, in the middle of the town. A little shop with water, candy and alcohol open 24/7. Very clean, welcoming, the breakfast was into the price, we could leave the luggages after check out. clean, nice rooms. staff was excellent, very helpful. location is good. private free parking. Very clean and neat. very well situated in the city, serving food was also a huge +. good location(near the train station) and facilities, beds, blankets and others are good. Decent if you go for the hostel thing. Good for concerts at LANXESS arena. Location, private toilet in the dorm room. location, breakfast. Super clean. the staff were efficient but not very friendly. The atmosphere in general was very formal and impersonal. If you're looking for a fun hostel to meet other younger travelers then this is NOT the place. Its more suitable for groups of younger kids (scouts, football teams etc.), families and couples. Check out is at 10am and they are quite strict. Everything was great, nothing to complaint, just across a main station in the centre!. The wifi didn't work on that day. You have to change the cover of the bed by yourself. The staff is not very welcoming. You get what you pay for. Nothing really fancy, and breakfasts could be better (but hey, they are included in the price). For me, the bed was a bit small (in length). wifi is not free and doesnt work always. Internet access not available in room. Public internet access limited to designated machines with coin payment. Internet was only aveable on the first floor, and it was 1.50 a hour. Internet facility was little one. where you some vouchers and once its over you cannot purchase it more. So was not happy. erm,could be cheaper... we are ' back-packers ' after all ;). no internet access and you should pay for that.the price is a little bit higher. In the dorm there was an old women snoring so loud all night, none of us could sleep. I thought dorm beds are for young students. small room, the room was too much hot. They charged for wifi and it is only available in the reception. Too expensive in comparison to other hostels in Germany and the location is not in the city center. The hostel was a bit of a trek from downtown and the rooms were separated by gender. The atmosphere is not like a hostel, cosy and nice and entertaining... It is as cold as a hotel, with the inconvenients of a hostel: pay for your towel, cheap furniture, etc. Breakfast is too soon (until 10) and staff is not pleasant. the easyjet principle: everything costs extra. the towel, the web access... and still the basic price isn't even cheap.
