Picked this hotel after looking at a few in the area and we were not disappointed. We received a very warm welcome, the room was clean and comfortable, dinner in the evening was typically old style French cuisine, delicious, and they have just about the best breakfast I have ever seen, anywhere, certainly in Europe, a complete feast. Great location near to the estuary and with easy public parking right opposite.
όλα τα σχόλια » This hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of Saint Valery, and for exploring the lower Somme area. The staff were helpful & friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and with the basic facilities to make hot drinks etc. For breakfast, there was a good selection of buffet items. My wife and I enjoyed staying at the hotel, and would choose to again. Very friendly chef patron and his wife ... he having good English. Very pleasant restaurant environment and excellent quality food for both dinner and breakfast. Bedroom/showroom simple but comfortable. Everything about our stay at the hotel was a pleasant experience and we are looking forward to staying there again in the future. The Riverside location and the lovely town within easy access. Also the location to WW1 battlefields and monuments. Friendly welcome, big rooms, very clean. Tea making facilities in room. Fantastic breakfast. Friendly welcome, restaurant service and food. The location of the hotel was ideal being close to both the medieval town & the coast. The location was good as it is very close to the somme. If I had to be picky I suppose having to pay for parking, but its a small thing. No dedicated parking, although there is a public car park across the road at €8 per day. There is free parking within a short walk, if you wish. The price for two gin and tonics - €24!. We would have liked to have stayed longer. Traffic noise at night in rooms overlooking the street. It has a traditional/eclectic feel in the decor, which is not to all tastes. Slightly overpriced for a weeks stay. Sadly, parking is not easy. They do not have a car parl although there is one across the road if you pay and can get in. The room and hotel looked tired and would benefit from some redecoration. The proprietor was impolite in response to a simple request for some coffee in the room, even then we only got two small sachets! Toilet roll ran out!!. The rooms were poorly decorated - although beds were comfortable and clean. Bathrooms too small - dinner was dreadful. They should invest in some parking spaces for guests - which could be PAID for by the guest. It was overpriced for the "plastic" nature and decor of the rooms - plastic chairs, dreadful furnishings. The dinner was all sous-vide and very mediocre. On the morning of our departure, we were presented with a bill of 93e, considerably more than the price you quoted! The owner would not back down, claiming that 93e was the rate for the room, not 60 as you quoted. We had a strong discussion in french, but he would not budge. Needless to say we won't be going there again! I would be interested to know why and how this happened. Perhaps you canfind out and let me know.
