This bed and breakfast is located inside the medieval walls and just a 3-minute walk from both Carcassone Castle and the Saint-Nazaire Basilica. Free WiFi is available in most areas. The rooms at L'Echappée Belle have large windows and views of the basilica. The Double Room has views of the garden and has a patio. Each room is traditional in style and also has a refrigerator and tea and coffee facilities. A continental breakfast is served every morning in the dining room. Vineyard tours, wine tasting and chocolate walking tours in La Bastide de Carcassonne can be booked in advance, directly with L'Echappée Belle. Free parking is available in a nearby car park, 300 metres from the property. Both the A61 and Carcassone Train Station are a 7-minute drive away.

We had the benefit of the ground floor room which has a door into the small courtyard garden which was perfect for a quiet glass of wine after a heavy day sightseeing. On the first night we drank out of the bathroom glasses and next day two wine glasses appeared. Thanks.The location is perfect being just off the main street in this lovely old mediaeval city. Yes you have to carry your bags from the car park but please this is a old city with little or no traffic. Next door is a terrific restara.
όλα τα σχόλια » Excellent chambre d'hôte in the centre of La Cité Médievale de Carcassonne, a few steps from the ancient Basilica of St Nazaire and the old walls and gateways. Lovely spacious room with excellent, much needed air conditioning - the temperature during the day in the cité was mid-30s. Very traditional French feel to the room: select, chic furnishings; immaculately clean. And a spacious bathroom with full-on modern shower. And a lovely welcoming host, Jacqui, who really made you feel at home. Grea. Jacqui our host was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We turned up early (due to an overnight bus) and were able to check into our room straight away - which was great as we were exhausted. The bed was very comfortable and the shower great. The breakfast was lovely, it included cereal and yoghurt, which made for a nice change from just the usual petit dejeuner of bread/croissant and coffee. Fabulous host couple who have just taken over this superbly located bed and breakfast destination! Unparalleled location for visiting this beautiful castle and its adjacent old town. The new owners are outstandingly hospitable, friendly, helpful and accommodating - exceptional value for money!. We stay for one week and we didn't need a car. We were able to walk everywhere from this amazing walled town. Our host was Australian so for us language was no problem. We had a great day playing golf on the lovely green Carcassonne Golf Course. The location was inside the city walls with easy access to sight seeing and restaurants. Our host was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely. The city is amazing, best first thing in the morning before the tourist buses in the summer. The hotel is very well located and clean. The room is extremely clean, with a comfortable bed. The morning coffee is tasty and the owner (Jack) is very friendly. Loved my estatia, go back to staying again and recommend it to everyone. Jacqui is the gracious host of this lovely b&b in the heart of Carcassone. Our first floor room had a beautiful view of the garden and the Basilica St. Nazaire. Comfortable bed, copious hot water, basic but tasty breakfast. A wonderful stay, excellent continental breakfast enjoyed whilst chatting with Jacqui. I recommend especially if you want to feel the spirit of Carcassonne and it's history. Don't miss the 4 Russian singers in the chapel. Lovely, friendly, warm welcome. Very pleasant room. The B & B was in a great position inside the Medieval City. The landlady was charming and really helpful. It was exactly what was needed for a great short break. Perfect! Good breakfast with a range of choices. Coffee could be hotter at breakfast. A minor gripe. No TV in room so missed Le Tour. There was a noisy bar close by that could be heard until 1pm. Be aware that parking is outside the city. We decanted our cases into bags we could carry because it was a one night stay, but taking cases would have been a trek. Some hotels inside the city have use of a shuttle service. I liked everything. The hotel is excellent and Carcassone is beautiful. Our sole regret is that we could only stay one night!. Nothing. Everything was good. Nothing. We were prepared to expect walking from parking (no parking in city) but it could be an unpleasant surprise if one wasn't. Your stay does come with an in-the-moat parking pass, only a short walk away. As all European rooms this one was small. It was difficult to manage with two suitcases even though they were small. No shuttle to transport baggage from parking lot. Nothing. I prefer not to have to share one large table with all guests at breakfast. Shower was a little small. Small room with cramped bathroom (Nr. 4). Many restaurants in Carcassonne are not open in the evenings in winter although there displays say otherwise. Nothing. Small room and having to drag suitcases over cobbled streets for several hundred meters, including a lot of stairs. nothing. Did not follow the cancellation policy, charged us when we later discovered we shouldn't had paid the full amount. Carcassone was much more touristic than I expected.Room was quite small, though the heated towel rail was very useful for drying clothes.
