As of July 2013 this place is less than a year old. The owners are a lovely couple with a teenage daughter. Super helpful, very genuine and will go out their way to make your stay in Zhangjiajie a great experience. Some things you should know about Zhangjiajie: Zhangjiajie is the name of the area comprising Tianmenshan and Wulingyuan. The cable car for Tianmenshan is a 10 minute walk from the hotel, whilst the Wulingyuan area is 40-45 minutes away by shuttle bus. Ideally you want at least 3 day.
όλα τα σχόλια » Before we arrived I emailed and asked if there was a taxi service from the airport. I got an immediate very friendly response telling me the cost and that he would meet me there. I was so impressed with his swift response and friendly email. And there he was when we landed - my name on a pink card so that it stood out from others and a big smile on his face. He took our luggage from us and we followed him to the waiting taxi. He continued to take good care of us - he walked us to the cable car . Location is perfect, just 5 minutes walk from railway station. You can choose to find the place yourself but I suggest you to email them your arrival time to pick you up. Avoid those annoying people that come to bug you for tourist package and taxi. When we came, there was little misunderstand with owner, he charged separately air-conditioner which he said it stated in policy. We didn't read the policy when we booked, who going to read about policy? In the end he waived it but I still choose to. We had arrived from Fenghuang via bus around 3 pm. We called the hotel and let the owner know about our arrival and he came to pick us up in his bicycle. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the station (very convenient).We met lots of very nice people on our China trip but he makes everyone seem "average".. he is super nice!! He helped us carry our luggage to the fourth floor despite our saying he did not have/need to. Then, he let us choose our room, one with a commode and other without. H. Though difficult to find at first, the location turned out to be excellent as it was near the bus station (long-distance buses as well as cheap buses into the national park), the train station, and bus lines into the city center. Mr. Shi and his wife were extremely helpful. The rooms and facilities were new and clean. Every morning, they gave detailed advice to help us plan our hiking trips. They also walked with us to the bus station to make sure that we caught the correct bus to the entrance . When researching Zhangjiajie, the common theme was the lack of English and confusion when going into the National Park. Our host at this hotel solved all of our problems. He was fantastic! He had good English, met us on his bike and we walked round the corner to the hotel, then after asking what we wanted out of our 3 day visit, made excellent suggestions about where to go, and drew details on the maps so that we had no problems. He knew the parks very well, and matched our fitness levels with . Hands down one of the kindest and helpful proprietors I have encountered in years of travel. Usually wary of over zealous hotel owners who try to help with everything, I was blown away by the kindness and helpfulness of Shi Wan Tang, the owner and operator. Don't be put off by the location down a side road (which is otherwise wonderfully centrally located and easily accessible to bus and train transport)... If you don't expect the Ritz, but value kind, Friendly and an honest* family run busines. I absolutely recommend this hotel! The family that ownes it are very friendly and warm people,and they are always smiling and helpful! They helped us pick out the best routes in the mountains for each day, and every day they took us to the bus station/cable car station to make sure we got on the right bus etc. They also came with suggestions for places to eat breakfast and dinner (which is right around the corner). The rooms are very clean and nice, and the bathroom and all the furniture is new. This hotel is located a short 7 minute walk from the central bus station and 10 minute walk from the train station. The boss and his family strive to help you with any of your needs and will arrange transport (public) or guiding services if you need. You will need to bring your own toiletries or you can purchase for a small fee. Air conditioning is provided for a nominal price if it gets too hot. We wrote an email to announce our arrival and they picked us up from the train station, which is 5min by walk from the hotel, as well as the central bus station. They helped us to plan our trip, took good care like offering us fresh fruit after an excursion and even got us a small discount to the TianMen mountain. Excellent owner Shivangtan (sorry for possible wrong spelling of Chinese name) - himself met us at the airport and escorted to the bus station when we went to the National Park and to the airport in the end. What I like most is the staff, the hotel's owner is so kind and helpful. Since the first night till the day we left, he always help us: offering reasonable price for airport pick up, advising for the trip, booking bus ticket or even sending message to ask whether we are safe during the trip or not. Good standard of cleanliness, newly refurbished rooms. The manager met us in the boiling hot sun on July 13th at the train station and walked us to our hotel. His wife also took us down the back alley ways to the Tianmen Cable Car the next day. The day after that, the manager led us to the bus to the main mountain viewing area. Without their help, we would still be wandering around. It is best to e-mail him in advance to meet you at the train station. The best economy hotel in china we've visited! The owner is super nice and he helped us to plan our trip to the park and also to let us know all that we needed to know about the park including the cost .He make our trip to zhangjiajie very comfortable and very joyfull. the staff is really willing, and it is great help for information about things to see. the owner knows a bit of English. the rooms are clean and comfortable, the hotel is very close to the cableway for Tianmen Mountain. if you want to go to Zhangjiajie and dont want to plan anything, you need go to this hotel. Whilst very close to the Zhangjiajie City (bus/train/plane) and the Tianmenshan cable car, it is a 40-50 minute journey by shuttle bus to the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Also not much in the area of the hotel except some local restaurants (which aren't bad and the owners will recommend). However, at the end of a day in the mountains you won't want to go out!. No toiletries provided. You either have to pay cny 5.00 for small package or you have to buy from outside store. They only have small towel. If you get used to big towel, bring it yourself or buy from local shop. Absolutely nothing!. - Cost for A/C (with that said, it was only 20RMB a day) - The map on letsbookhotel.com is not very accurate-- the hotel is actually across the street and down a little bit from where the buses exit the station. If the bus station is to your left, look for "一家亲" in big red characters to your right! - Travelers who do not speak basic Chinese may have difficulty communicating with the owners, since they only speak a little English. No elevator. But whatever. You're in China. You're not really downtown, more or less 20 minutes by walk, and though you can take a bus there for cheap, they seem to finish early (8pm on the timetable). Then again it's not that far at all, just know this if you go for dinner downtown, though there are restaurants and shops around the hotel as well. Location, this is quite far from the national park, taking the bus for 40 minutes but so close to the airport, train station, bus station and tianshan. Minor issue but don't be put off from staying here - request western toilet if you would prefer one. The rooms are not cleaned each day. You will need to ask for trash to be removed or for a new towel. Requests are met, however. Location not close to main park. Nothing. I paid about 15USD/night for a twin room. And got more than what I paid for. Therefore, nothing negative!. None actually There is no elevator only the minus ^^. It's a bit complicated to find the hotel by itself. And it was noisy since 6 am. nothing I can think of. the surrounding area is truly characteristic, perhaps a little too. Nothing. -quite sketchy neighborhood -hard to find -no wifi inside rooms (at least the one I stayed in). You had to pay a little extra for air conditioning. However the price of the hostel was low so it balanced out. Overall I would absolutely suggest staying there!!!!!. A bit difficult to find. Bed was hard and there was a school that blasted music right next door for about twenty minutes every day started at 7:50am. Room was rather cold but we were given extra blankets. Hot water takes a while to come through but then it is good. Hotel name is not in english but the owner is expecting you and keeps an eye out for your arrival in his street. A resturant in the hotel would have been better. There was no hotel sign in English. So, it can be tricky to find the hotel if you don't how the name is written in Chinese. Nothing. None. No Western/English TV programs. No daily room service. Noise in morning, due to school nearby.
