A 3-floor hotel in the Downtown, just two blocks from the Skyline, within a walking distance to pretty everything in the centre. As many others have mentioned, construction works are going on on the two sides of the hotel but I did not find them extremely noisy or disturbing. I had a room with a shared bathroom and I was quite satisfied with that option, as the bathroom was clean and I never had problems getting in. Breakfast is quite simple but sufficient. There is a computer and a printer tha.

The wifi is good, and password is not device limited (an otherwise pain at some other hotels which require you to ask for separate passwords for cell, laptop, tablet, ,,, and limit you to two). You should bring multiple plug extension with you. Breakfast lady is nice. My husband and I enjoyed our short stay in this hotel. It is conveniently located in downtown Vancouver close to the SkyTrain station. The hotel is clean and has a pretty classic interior. The staff was nice and helpful. Although we had to use shared bathrooms, they were very clean and easy to access. The bath robe and slippers provided in the room were a pleasant addition to the overall great experience. I liked everything about this hotel, from the general atmosphere of welcome to details like robe and slippers provided for shared bathroom. Central downtown location, 2 blocks from SkyTrain lines to airport and to bus/train station, save your taxi fares. Laundry facilities and free internet station. Good continental breakfast. Luggage storage. Everything good!. I have three reasons to recommend The Kingston. (1) Very good location: a few minutes' walk from the central station. (2) Bright and friendly staff: the manager has a sufficient experience staying in foreign country and offers good courtesy for the guests. (3) Clean and order: everything is neatly prepared. The shared bathroom had been always clean. we arrived just before midnight after a 12 hour delay with flights . we were tired & hungy and nothing was open in the local area . the night manager was fantastic - very friendly & helpfull . he made up a coffee & a snack from the breakfast room . location & rates were great. Clean, friendly, terrific price because of construction next door, close enough to Convention Centre and Robson Street shopping area, computor available, refrigerator, coin-op laundry room, sitting area, sauna. (Did not necessarily use everything.). The whole concept of a b&b in the heart of the city. I found it very hard to find a fault. Well maybe one extra item was needed. A girl needs a full length mirror in the room, to make sure the shoes match the out fit. It is just a great small, comfortable and humble place--have loved staying there over the years. Hasn't changed. Glad it is a historical site and has been saved as the construction on both sides moves ahead. Location is great. Just a couple of minutes walking from everything. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was ok. Even with shared toilets, everything was very clean all the time. The reception was very kind and helpful. The rooms are fairly small, but nice. Wifi functions well in the rooms. Coffee and tea are free during the day. We didn't know there was a sauna so that was a pleasant surprise. Central in down town, free wifi and totally surprised to have a decent breakfast for such a good price. - Central location; - budget friendly; - quiet during weekend; - cleanliness, and neatness. Almost everything. quaint atmosphere. location staff. bathroom. location. This is a lovely Edwardian Hotel set in the heart of downtown Vancouver, with high ceilings and enormous cast iron radiators. It was easily the cheapest accommodation for miles around. I was worried that the two enormous building projects either side would be noisy or dusty, but I heard not a sound all week end. good internet, good price and location-for this expect to make compromise. very simple breakfast but quite cosy breakfast room. very nice staff. if the hotel stay is not the journey purpose and location is important, go for it as for sleepover it is good value for money. The location is perfect, right in downtown of Vancouver. The room and shared bathrooms were clean. Free wifi and free breakfast. It is well located, close to downtown. The manager and the young lady were very helpful and friendly. Location 24 Hour check in Room was clean and comfortable. All in all, I quite liked the hotel and would not hesitate to come back. The only thing I disliked was a strange smell in my room that I could not get rid of in any way. No airconditioning (summer), there is a fan, kept windows open, but there is a large construction project just outside the window. Fortunately, night time machinery hum is not tooo loud (July 10, 2013), and akin to white noise. The Kingston is now surrounded by construction sites. If you prefer staying at the hotel, you can enjoy watching how skyscrapers are constructed. 3/4 double bed a little small for 2 people but adequate for a short stay. Continental breakfast could have used some fresh fruit beside a small slice of orange. No air conditioning. Very noisy. The hotel is surrounded by skyscraper constructions and since there is no air conditioning we had to sleep with an open window, which means ... little sleep. Breakfast is small and sometimes you have to wait to get a seat. The breakfast is simple. Construction around; rooms small but adequate. Room & bed a little on small size but is OK for night or two. The room was a bit small.the building site next door on both sides did not bother us but if you want to sleep during the day it could be a big problem. M biggest problem was breakfast . ( yes I know it is a budget hotel) but they say on the web site it is a continental breakfast well it isn't you cannot call toast, bagels and 2 segments of orange a continental breakfast it isn'T.....they should either up date the breakfast ie more selection of fruit or a selection of cereal...or on the web sit word it differently...they could say a small breakfast. Currently has construction underway on both sides of the building. Sharing bath though not really a problem I would stay again for the price and comfort. The room and bed was quite small, but the room price and location more than made up for that. Because I read other reviews I knew the breakfast would be a bit simple, so that was fine by me. But I expect people who haven't done the same might find it a bit disappointing if they imagined a B&B style breakfast. I advise the hotel to take the B&B out of their listing title but still offer the breakfast as an extra. If ever they change the taps, please take European style mix / swing arm taps. These British ones are not really great. - The site on the web did not mentioned that on two sides of the B&B, were two serious construction sites; - the noise in room, even with closed windows, during the week day, was unbearable. Common bathroom and only one on the floor so it was not always available when I wanted. But not a big deal as it was only for one night. Small room, small double bed. Older infrastructure. Some rooms very small and some have no bathrooms. Only old chips and granola bars in vending machine. Proximity of new construction works. Bed was too narrow; one of us slept on the floor. Shower and toilet on hallway but they have housecoats available. One bathroom per floor, separate faucets for hot and cold water in the room that needs to be held all time if want to have water running, very narrow bed. The "breakfast" part was truly continental. room is very small. nothing. Breakfast is the same every morning. shared bathroom. The bathroom situation was dire, our landing had a single communal bathroom, and a Ladies of unknown size, there was a large gents on the floor above, which meant a long trek in dressing gown when ours was occupied. Breakfast - a piece of toast?. very budgety hotel in Vancouver downtown with huge construction site next to it. dirty bath robe, was not exchanged for clean. The room had terrible smell (like the stink from a dog or something). I would also feel the smell of the smoke in the hallway, although everywhere it says 'non-smoking hotel', ashtrays are all over the hotel. The size of the room was unexpectedly small and breakfast was poor. But for 1 night it was okay. There is a big construction going on right next to the hotel and it is really noisy. There are just few bathrooms and showers in each floor which makes kind of uncomfortable to share. Bed a bit too small for 2!. Breakfast was a joke: toast with butter and a cup of coffee.
