From the minute we stepped inside Dewaterzooi we loved it. We were met with a welcome drink and sat down at the table with the owners who told us what Ghent had to offer. Our room was lovely, looking out over the old castle walls and onto the bustling square below. We only stopped overnight as part of a bigger trip but had such a fantastic time we will definitely plan a return! A relaxing, luxurious and refreshing start to our trip with a really warm welcome. Fantastic breakfast too. Our small son was made especially welcome. Totally recommend the Riverhouse! -

The unbelievable great care of the landlady for her guests, her beautifull house and garden, good 'natural' food and the care for the envirement in general. - Everything about it was very good. This is the real thing, and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Hotel is convenient to train station (2 min. walk) and city center (10 min. tram ride or 20 min. walk). Hotel owners are professional and friendly, and work hard to make guests comfortable and to orient them to the city sights. Rooms are clean, comfortable, updated, and spacious. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Friendly atmosphere. Neighborhood quieter than you'd expect given its proximity to train station, but there are plenty of restaurants and conveniences near-by. I'd gladly stay here agai
