The hotel has been recently renovated and is very clean and tidy. The location is perfect - whithin 5 min. walk from the airport (McDonalds is even closer). Room is small but has a TV, reverse cycle aircon, toilet/shower cubicle and sink. Hot drink and snack machines downstairs ($2 for a cup of tea or coffee). Very helpful staff. Based on other reviews I expected it to be a bit noisy but it was as quiet as any other hotel, and you cannot hear the planes at all. Overall, I thought it was perfect.
όλα τα σχόλια » It really is walking distance from the airport - under 5 minutes, and reasonably well signposted. Happily surprised to find bar fridge, coat hangers, mirrors, en suite etc. This is not a Formule 1 anymore, with recent renovations it has certainly gone up a notch. We got lucky and were on the non-airport side of the building so a view of green hills was a nice surprise. I could only point out the very good personal. The man from Pakistan (I don't remember his name, we checked in at around 1 pm) at the front desk was very very helpful and friendly. I would give him 10 points out of 10!!! The other person (I think original from India) on the evening shift was very friendly and helpful as well. Thank you very much. The friendly staff, especially Rowena the cleaning lady, anything that l needed they catered for, eg, kettle and hair dryer. On leaving the manager even found a trolley to take to the airport. Friends stayed at the expensive hotels at the airport and got bad service, i stayed budget and found friendly welcoming staff at ibis, i was very happy. exellent hotel, great value for money, ideal for a one night sleep over, only the breakfast lets it down but that is i think only for the lack of kitchen and kitchen staff, some people may need warm food in the am ie full english, so therefore the hotel may lose some business with mcdonalds just round the corner. Staff member on duty thursday night 11pm 20th Dec was very helpful in resolving a booking issue. I had booked on line from south america and it was not immediately clear i had booked. Was given room 123, this was fine (handicap room) but no issue. I found it to be a very reasonable hotel for my 2 day stay. Friendly staff, affordable, convenient to where I had to go to the airport so it was perfect. I got offered a position at Melbourne International Airport so it was well worth the trip. The Lady on reception, I believe she was South African, excellent! I mistakenly had booked right date wrong month, but she sorted it out for me, excellent service!!. The location is amazing, literally a 5 minute walk from the airport!. Very friendly and helpful at Reception. Within easy walking distance to the airport. Just what you need to crash for the night. It was very small but spotlessly clean. We couldn't fault anything. Thankyou very much. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Baby cot was no extra charge (unlike many other hotels). Rooms look a bit spartan, but facilities all worked well and the hotel was overall convenient and comfortable. beds seem more comfortable than when it was formule 1, decor has also improved with change of brand. This is a great location -love being able to walk across to catch an early morning flight. have stayed here twice before this stay. Love the convenience of being so close to the airport for early morning departure. Is neat, tidy and clean and perfect for overnight stopover. We choose IBIS because we have an early flight the next morning. Location is the winning factor, around 10 mins walking to airport. Compact room with basic facilities in. A bit hard to find after leaving the first part of the airport especially finding out how to get past MacDonalds and the petrol station. We could see the Ibis sign but not how to get there. Increase in price. Inconvenient that reception closes at 10 especially coming from country and leaving on early morning flight and needing to pick up travel documents left by agent. The rude person working on the Information desk at the Melbourne airport who was very unhelpful regarding directions to the Ibis Budget!. There was no kettle/tea, coffee making facilities in the room, no mini fridge and no shampoo/conditioner in shower. If the room had these extra things it would have been perfect in every way. :). The shower room is too cramped. It is quite a long walk from the airport if you have heavy luggage, a shuttle bus would be very useful. breakfast was to dear. No tea / coffee in room. But then McDonald's very close by so that was fine. Little noisy, but that was not hotel fault. Just ignorant users who don't understand the words "keeping quiet" when late or early hours. You need to follow sign 'Formula 1' and not ibis budget. There was no elevator in the hotel which means I had to carry my two very heavy bags up the stairs on my own - and that wasn't pleasant at all!. No elevator so have to carry bags up the stairs. no tea or coffee in room. Our first room the heater didn't work and after 3 tries by staff they moved us to another room with no bother. having supper in the airport. Might be worth checking the restaurant at other hotels there. Very noisy heater Minimum amount of bed linen. A few more guest services or lower price a little. The room got some dust at the bed corner, maybe because of the location which just by the roadside. Hot water for cooking instant food not provided at the dining area, request it from the on-duty receptionist. Old carpet- almost smelt as though people had been smoking. I would prefer to pay a little less for what I received - was just the basics - no shampoo, no tea & coffee, no free Wi-Fi. I would recommend eagerly if it was cheaper. Is there a loyalty program?. Water pressure in shower was very light. Prefer a place where you can make tea or coffee rather than purchase from vending machine. I was disappointed that Ibis-Budget Melbourne Airport did not have the facilities the same as Sydney Olympic Park where you could buy a microwave dinner and make your own tea and coffee. noisy, very small room. I also stayed at another ibis Budget hotel 2 nights later in another state and would not not consider the Airport one worthy of $114 per night - solely on proximity to the airport. The 24 hour room key dispensing machine didn't give me a swipe key and I had to borrow a phone to ring the duty manager as the buzzer wasn't working.Took two phone calls but got sorted and had a great few hours sleep. Didnt have any dislikes. Outside of building looks drab and uninviting.Noise coming into room from the foyer area(we were on the ground floor).
