staff at reception desk was perfect, well informed and friendly.
the hotel was cozy and nicely decorated. big lounge with living room flair and impressive view on lake argentina through the window.
computer & internet available and Ok, wifi very good.
for the restaurant reservation and pre-choice was necessary. dinner was excellent.
we would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone travelling to el calafate!

Excellent place. It is really a “boutique” hosteria, similar to an upscale American (not British) B&B. The location and scenery from your room is breathtaking. The rooms are big and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious but the biggest standout for me was the two owners. Two people so passionate about looking after their guests. They were soo helpful and lovely. They gave us great advice on tours, booked it for us even lent us some hiking boots!! They were so selfless they even suggested we go to El Chelten which although meant we didnt stay more nights with them, meant we got to

The room and the hosteria were nice and clean. The hosteria is located 15 minutes walk from the city center, but honestly it is not an issue and in terms of landscape, it is much better to be a little bit outside of the center of el calafate, that is packed with shops and other tourist staff not really worth spending the night close to. Definitely our favorite place we had stayed after a month in South America. Other reviews complain about its location. We didn't think the walk was bad. The place's charm and Adriana's hospitality easily outweigh any concerns about the location anyways. Super comfortable room and legitimately hot shower at all times. Adriana's homemade treats were the star of the show though. I highly recommend staying here.

It is a lovely hostel run by an owner who goes the extra mile to make you feel at home, and gives you excellent and most updated information about tours, glaciers and the national park. -

Very much liked the hospitality of Analia and Adrian who were supporting us in organizing and recommending trips around El Calafate. Very friendly and lovely people!
The breakfast was really good and served individually and was rich on coffee, juice, bread, ...
We enjoyed our stay of nearly one week there, also with a stop of 3 nights in an other

The Alto Verde Hosteria was a great small hotel, located about a 10 minute walk from the center of town. The staff there were wonderful and extremely helpful, even packing our breakfast to go each morning because we were going on early tours. Highly recommend this hotel.

Whilst the location was 2Km outside the town, it was only a £4 taxi ride and the quite location was well worth the short ride (we walked along the sea-wall which was very pleasant and only took 25 minutes). The staff were fantastic and helpful beyond the call of duty. This is a 5 star hotel only charging a 3 star price - you will not be dissapoin

Can't beat the location, right in the middle of town, eveything (including bus station) only a few minutes walk. Relatively good price for what you get.
