We've been very fortunate in enjoying great travel. No hotel in the world, for us, compares to the Alvear. It is perfect in every way - the rooms, services, dining. It is expensive but worth every single cent. -

It was a very calm peaceful setting in a busy city. We used the Ilum as our base and travelled to other destinations returning to the Ilum each time. Everything. Very nice staff, excellent location for Palermo Viejo/Soho area. We used buses/subway, so also fairly convenient to get around the city on 140 bus and D subte at Plaza Italia.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and nicely decorated rooms. We arrived really early and they gave us to have breakfast without charge since our room wasn't yet ready. Great location - right in the heart of trendy Palermo Soho. Delicious Pisco Sours at the bar!

The hotel surprised me in a positive way. One day before our arrival, I received an email from the staff asking what time we would arrive and placing himself at the disposal. The location in San Telmo couldn't be better with easy access to the subway system and all historical sites. Also fun to be right inside the Sunday San Telmo Market. Also, the entire staff was cordial, helpful and professional. Made the stay all the more worthwhile.

The hotel has a great glassed in rooftop pool/spa/gym with fantastic views of the city and the rooms are very nice as well. - Very comfortable, clean bed and room, with nice decor. Breakfast buffet was fabulous.
