  I had no idea what to expect from Emeralda but I have to say that as soon as the door to our taxi opened we were welcomed and treated like royalty. The staff were all so happy and always, always smiling. Our suite was absolutely superb with a view of the mountains and privacy that I had not expected from a Resort that was so large. The location was absolutely gorgeous, with spacious room and excellent view. The staff, especially the front office manager were all truly helpful.   We only needed a hotel in a convenient location for our next day visit to Tam Coc but definitely found more than this. The hotel rooms are simply huge, very clean and comfortable. Really felt like home there. We even got a PC in the room. But the staff makes the difference. They were incredibly kind and attentive. We could also - Good staff, very helpful arranging transport (one of the staff took me on his motor bike all day sightseeing) and allowed early check in and arranged all my connections to Hoi An. Hotel had good facilities, was clean and comfortable. Great value of course. The sights around Ninh Binh (Tam Coc before or after the tourists have gone) and countryside are similarly impressive as Halong Bay.

  Couldn't say a bad word about this hotel. We're so glad we stayed in Ninh Binh for 1 night instead of doing a day tour from Hanoi. The staff is great, they pick you up from the train/bus station without you having to ask for this (or even mentioning what time you arrive, incredible!). Rooms are very big, and the tour - Nothing was too much trouble for the owners/staff and did everything possible to ensure an enjoyable stay. For example i was picked up from the train station without even asking if this was possible and without the owners knowing i was arriving by train, therefore they must have been driving between the bus and train station looking for me, and to top it off they even cooked food for me when the kitchen was closed (as i arrived late in the evening).
