The 1661 Inn - Fotos
Was die Leute sagen
The 1661 Inn and Guest Houses was perfectly situated so that it was a very quick walk to town, but removed enough to be quiet with a FABULOUS view. Their gardener must be a miracle worker because I've never seen so many vibrant flowers. Staff in general was extremely kind and helpful, going out of their way on several occasions to make sure we were comfortable and happy. While I don't usually expect much from a complimentary breakfast, this one was delicious!! I've never had a complimentar. alle bewertungen »
I loved my view! I stayed in the main house and was in the Deering and my view was absolutely amazing! Loved the breakfast. The staff was so friendly. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I could not have enjoyed myself more! I will definitely be coming back and bringing my husband with me!.
Staff was friendly and welcoming.
Steps from town, yet quiet and romantic. The Manisses has romantic outdoor garden for dining in the summer. The location and price are hard to beat on the island, as well as their points program that can earn you a free stay! Definitely recommend.
The breakfast was amazing! The buffet offered an assortment of food
including a make your own omelet station that the staff cooked and
mimosas at no extra charge. The staff was friendly, and the view from
our guest house was beautiful. We will be back again for sure!.
Location was excellent, five minute walk from Ferry terminal. Excellent water views and well kept grounds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was ready on arrival even though we arrived several hours prior to the published check-in time.
The property was quaint the amenities were amazing. Wine and cheese as well as a first class breakfast with one lets made to order. The location was prefect and the inn's restaurant served a fabulous dinner. Great experience! Will return soon.
The old-world ambiance was charming (Manisses Hotel). The room was comfortable, and the fans kept the room within pleasant temperature levels. Both the wine reception and the breakfast were excellent and nice additions to our stay.
I liked the price at the time of booking. I love the wine and cheese hour and the breakfast. We book here all of the time but prefer the annex. This time around we tried the brandy coffees...fun and yummy.
I stayed in the guest house on the weekend of May 18th-19th. The accommodations were lovely. The breakfast was delicious and included with the room. Enjoyed my stay and give it a two thumbs up.
Everything about this place is wonderful; the staff, the rooms, the ocean view, the always-magnificent buffet breakfast, the wine and cheese overlooking the ocean...it's all terrific!.
Front desk and breakfast staff were so sweet! Front desk even offered to bring a pot of fresh coffee down to Dodge Cottage from the Inn. Now that's service! Room very clean.
Rooms were very nice & comfortable with tasteful vintage furnishings. Complimentary breakfast was much more than we expected in a dining room that overlooked the water.
The staff was fantastic along with the breakfast, view and room. The Inn was a short walk from the ferry. Very easy to walk into town and great to bike around the island.
beautiful accommodations, friendly people, best breakfast included each morning, wine and nibbles each afternoon, also included. very relaxing.
Complementary wine and nibbles by on the ocean-view porch was luxurious! The buffet breakfast was wonderful and the staff was ever-present!.
From ownership under Rita Abrams Draper to the cleaning staff, honest exuberance was apparent. We immediately felt at home. Pure comfort.
The room was sweet. Nice little extras in the room...staff was friendly and helpful. Phenominal breakfast included....delicious!.
love block island and the hotel was perfect location/setting on BI,
wine and cheese hour and breakfast buffet=DIVINE.
Friendly reception, very good breakfast buffet, nice accommodations, great location, wonderful off season retreat.
Loved the proximity to the beach. The buffet breakfast and daily wine and cheese hour were also great for us.
Quiet, quaint, great service, attentive friendly staff, great view, very nice breakfast and wine/snack time.
We have rented houses on Block Island. And liked the convience and hospitality of the Hotel Manisses.
The owner of the inn was constantly interacting with the guests. She made you feel very welcome.
It was off the beaten path but still close to the action. Very low key, excellent restaurant!!!.
Cosy home-like feel. The staff was very friendly. Complimentary wine tasting was a nice bonus.
buffet breakfast and happy hour evenings from 4:30 to 5:30. Quality food, superb staff.
The access to the place I worked for the week was great alongwith friendly folks.
The breakfast buffet and wine and nibbles on the deck was wonderful!.
Fabulous breakfast buffet, great location close to town yet quiet.
1661 is by far one of the best Inns we have ever stayed in.
Excellent ... people were great ...Cozy... Great breakfast.
the room was amazing! and the breakfast was awesome!.
Service was great. Awesome attention to detail.
breakfast was great as was the staff there.
Very comfortable bed;
Good bathroom;.
Breakfast over looking the ocean.
The flaming coffee and deserts.
Everything!.
very clean.
The room was fine, nice, bathroom was fine, nothing special but Block Island can sometimes have very small rooms. This room and bathroom was a decent size, and clean.
*Walking distance to ferry, shops, restaurants. *Friendly staff
*requested a hair dryer before arriving & they handed it to me
at check-in.
The breakfast was nice as was the 1661 dining room.
Location is very good to town.
The restaurant at the Hotel Manisses is fit for foodies the food is exquisite and the complimentary breakfast buffet at the Inn is out of this world fantastik !!! Don't miss it!!.
breakfast.
Bed was noisy, room thermostat didn't seem to be able to control temperature as the room was always too warm, curtains in bathroom were moldy.
I was not aware of the shuttle between ferry and hotel, but that may have been my oversight.
the pillows were terrible!.
There is absolutely nothing about the 1661 House that I dislike.
Bed was a little soft and cheap. Consider upgrading the mattresses for guests comfort.
We had to leave!.
nothing.
Nothing!.
Sinage on Block Island is poor to terrible.
Having to move our car backwards to get on the ferry. Ugh!.
A little old. No a/c but had 2 fans. Breakfast was served up the street at the sister inn.
Instructions about where to check in would have been helpful. We were in a small cottage and not the main inn.
nada.
The room was very small, and did not have a T.V.
It would be nice to have decaf coffee accessible in the lobby.
We paid for a room with a Jacuzzi but the Jacuzzi didn't work. When I mentioned it at check out I thought we would have received some money off our room but we didn't.
The soundproofing was bad as there was only a thin wooden door between our room and the adjacent room. You could hear everything.
Can't think of anything.
Everything was wonderful but if I had to pick one thing it would be
early wakeup-4:30 am by the rooster. Also laundry and trash was left on
the porch of the Anchor House for over 24 hours.
Off season not much to do on island..
there was nothing to dislike!.
everything was fine.
Noisy ceiling fan.
1661 breakfast: Bacon only served on Mon. and Fri. and you ran out of chocolate croissants before 9 a.m. "The early bird gets the croissant".
Room was dark. No reading lamp at the bedside. They brought me a lamp. But my flash light would have worked better. Beside reading lights are important.
We think we forgot leaving a tip for the staff; don't be offended, a sincere thank- you note with financial gratuities are forthcoming. Would highly recommend for the the perfect vacation/get-a-way.
We stayed at the dodge cottage. Starting at about 8 AM for about two hours a doors were constantly slamming, literally every few minutes one or two doors would slam. This was really annoying because we were really trying to rest and relax and the constant slamming was unnerving and frustrating!.
*Our room at dodge cottage had a slanted ceiling which we hit out heads
on several times *for $250/night I expected more upscale finishes in
room *bed squeaked *bedspread had stain on it.
The staff was unfriendly. Although the reservation was for the 1661, which is lovely, we were put in a room in another completely separate building, which was not much better than a dormitory. Certainly of worth $300 a night.
Blue fish is severed daily for breakfast. Blue fish is on the list as one of the fish which contains high levels of mercury. Recommend removing or choose another fish.
ROOMS!!! Old, dreary, smelly, scratchy, hottttt!!.
smelly room, outdated, no A/C. We made a mistake when booking and paid for an extra night we didn't use. The hotel management would not give us a refund for the night which would have been the right thing to do. Instead they kept the money.
