Loved our stay. We live only about 30 mins. north of San Diego and try to stay at the West Gate at least twice a year. It is like being on a vacation even though we are residents. Absolutely love staying downtown. -

It is clear from the moment you step food in front of the hotel to the
moment you check out that the staff at this Hotel love their jobs and
really enjoy working with one another. The hotel is beautiful and

Was greeted at check-in with a glass of white wine. Just what I needed after a long day at work! The staff are happy and have great personalities. Probably because they let some of their employees bring their dogs to work. And the design was very unique and posh. -

The location is unbeatable if you want to stroll the Gaslight District and visit Horton Mall. The room was on the small side but immaculately clean w/the standard amenities and more. Charming boutique hotel with lots of charm in a historic building. It's well located in the Gaslight Quarter, close to the Convention Center and with easy access to all the things that make San Diego fun. The rooms are very nice with a fireplace and lots of faux-antiques that made the rooms look more "Victorian" and lots of fun. It had all the modern comforts while giving the impression that we were staying in Wyatt Earp's old San Diego. I'd definitely stay there again.

The on-site gym was under repair during my visit but they provided guest aces to the YMCA gym just around the corner. ironically that was one of the highlights of my trip as the Y had one of the best retired weight rooms I have seen in a long time. -
