  I loved the in-town location, being able to park my car and never get in it again til it was time to leave. You could look out the windows and see the harbor, James Town, and Goat Island in the distance. The shopping was fabulous. Everything within walking distance. We Loved Jane, the manager, who was very thorough, friendly, and helpful. We loved the sheets and th comfort of the bed.   I loved our charming, private room- the bed was huge and super comfy, the room was decked out with interesting decorations, and the grounds were beautiful. I loved how we were right in the heart of it all yet tucked away where no one could find us.   Enjoyed the facility itself, but the staff made our stay more pleasurable. The location was within walking distance to almost all of Newport. I will go again. - I love that the hotel is unique and desn't feel like any chain hotel. I also love the history of the hotel and that it has been open since 1929.

  The staff was very friendly and helped us with questions about Newport. We got great tips about restaurants. Everyone was very helpful and nice. For example they always wanted to help with our stroller going up and down the stairs. This is an old house so it´s kind of narrow in the hallways but it was no problem getting around. The location is - We loved our visit to Newport and will stay here again! The staff was wonderful and gave us great recommendations for restaurants in the area. Everything but the beaches and mansions were in walking distance. The breakfast was simple but filling and fresh each morning, with fruit and/or cookies out each day and afternoon. The room was great, and we especially enjoyed the deck...a great place for a glass of wine or cup of coffee! Thanks so much for a great stay!

We are a middle aged couple who just decided to take off midweek for a quick trip to the cape/Newport etc. Staff was so friendly, helpful and courteous. We were within 2 minutes walking distance to some of the best food in newport - and the beach was right across the street
