  I have stayed in around 20 different yha hostels in the world and this is the best I have ever stayed in. Excellent security ( all points of entry are covered including your dormitory!! Believe me, not all hostels offer that). So if you are looking for company, you are bound to - Located a short walk to upper broadway which is jam packed full of everything u could ask for. Everything !! short walk to the #1 subway line which takes u all the way down to battery park. There are housing projects directly behind thebuilding, but there was no trouble at all & that just added to the whole atmosphere of staying in ny. They put on several events on each day & night so u get to meet a lot of other travelers & explore in a group. There is an outlet & little shelf

  I stayed at fit Hotel twice in a month. I was with them for a week and then for a couple of days. The location is definitely 5 stars. Being at the Upper West Side (Manhattan), it is right next to Central Park and the important museums.   very fun place, safe, cool people!!! not far from the subway - Pretty place and very sociable. We had free drinks and BBQ on the roof the night I stayed. Nice mix of people, mostly young.
