  This is a older, cheaply built, no thrills motel, but it is very clean, and the owner is very nice and helpful. The bed was new, the sheets and towels were clean, there was plenty of hot water, and the price was great.   Location near Crater Lake National Park was excellent, and provided a convenient and far less expensive alternative to the lodges inside the park. Also, in talking to the current owner, I learned that under the prior owner back in 2009-2010, the property went into foreclosure due to the recession. But various rating services will not remove the low ratings given during that 2009-2010 time period. Do not consider those 2 - We loved the themed rooms and the rustic feel of the facility. The history of the building is rich with details in the lobby. It did not feel like a hotel/motel, more like staying the night at a friends house along our journey of the NW. We received a bottle of adorably wrapped sparkling apple cider with a glass for all 3 of us. We enjoyed a variety of hot beverages in the lobby when we checked in, loved it! The hostess of the lodge was incredibly helpful with any of our needs and was prompt.
